Id be willing to be a FRS vs GTO on the beartooth would be pretty neck and neck..

and i didn't say id rather have a slow car..

i said lesspowered but more fun to drive..that doesn't mean its slow..I bet the FRS is more fun to drive then the GTO. Bet it feels nimbler, quicker, lighter on its feet and more fun to drive.

Had a buddy with a corvette and a cobalt SS..he liked the cobalt way more cause it was just more fun to drive.

Honestly, I need to see the books..... I think I can fix his current business model, BUT i may need to get him some help come summer time

It going to be my part time job, im hoping I can stay involved enough to fix a few of the issues with the shop.... Ill probably be very involved for 6 to 8 days a month, which would be my days off..... probably spend every second wednesday, thursday, friday and monday there....


Im hoping to get Bear in the back shop and if things can get turned around im sure Ill be convincing to hire a welder for the summer as the big projects usually roll in around than.... I think my spare room also opens up this next week

 

well shit..i was half kidding..

But hell. if it pays good, lemme know haha id be down. Im not certified, but you have seen my welds, i can do MIG welding good and shit for sliders/bumpers whatever and all the grunt work even if i don't weld. As i have lots of shop hand experience.

But yea..idk. haha lemme know i guess.

I really think I could probably house an "american" for the summer pay him local wages and still do okay......



next friday Im going in with my boots on, and my clipboard, the shop is getting a head to toe inventory that weekend.... Pictures of all items in the shop and than hopefully going to look at what stock hasnt moved in years....

how much exactly do you need to "buy in"?

are you hoping for a steady cash stream in returns or is this going to be like a "fun endeavor side project to see how it goes" type of thing?

so are you looking to take over as general manager? shop manager? Basically take it in as your business? or my guess is co owning it with someone else?

im curious to see where you go with this, considering my Accounting/Finance/Business personality

essentially the next two months of my life will probably be consumed by getting the place profitable again, from my understanding they are BUT they have some un paid bills by customers.... Bear is too nice to ask for payment sooooooo Im going to open the books and get scared. Id like to see some cash flow out of it, BUT i need to get the current owner back on his own feet from what I can tell. It would be for atleast the first year a fun endeavor

I need to look at the books and figure out a valuation of the company..... thus why Im going to go inventory the shop.....

I wouldnt know until later on.... all i know is we cant pay "oilfield" pricing on wages lol

I suppose if you caught up on uncollected accounts and got the budget tightened and cash flows straightened out it would go back to running itself. Like you said...only way to figure it out is to look at the books...and especially compare book value of assets to actual valuation of assets.
