I'd love to watch you butcher your truck :p... but I think this weekend is Family time.

Is this what you are running? What size rims do you have? Are you running any wheel spacers?

Funny as shit! I've been studying the post monte posted. It's your ride. Wish I had your cardboard templates. I'll just have to hack and fit myself. I have 1.5 spacers. Be interesting how it turns out. Hope that shit is clan like yours. One question I do have is I've seen a build where they were able to keep there fender flares and only had to trim, the rear of the front flares and the front of the rear flares. Was keeping the flares and not trimming the fenders not an option for you?

Pm me your address and I will cut up a new set out of some new cardboard for you! I can just send it in the mail. ORRRR if you rather do it all on your own that's cool! It's a fun!

I was actually looking through that build thread as well about the fender flares. The gentleman with the burgundy double cab? It looks like he cut his flares on the front leading edge? If that makes sense? They sit higher up on the actual metal fender of the truck. Which was one of the reasons why I didn't want to do it. It looked kinda goofy, and I don't want to say "hacked" be causes far from hack. It just wasn't my cup of tea. As for cutting the rear of the front fender flare, that wasn't an option for me, solely for the reason of removing so much material. If you look at a lot of the other tubs on TTORA or similar, they've removed more on the top size of the inner fender wall, then actually "pushing" the firewall back. Which totally defeats the purpose of tubbing, as the goal is to not have rubbing when at full compression in a TURN. Does that make sense? It's kinda hard to explain over a keyboard...lol.

As for the other gentleman who cut the rear of the fronts and the fronts of the rears, that wasn't an option for me as there is nothing on the inner fender well to connect the undersize of the flare to. You will loose your fender liners. And essentially have to cut ~1" of metal off the arch of the rear. This in return will make the fender flare sit higher up on the body, interfering with the gas door. To be honest I didn't spend a lot of time going through his build thread and how attached the flares back to the body. Like I said, putting them back on MAY be a possibility for me. It would take a ton of bullshit work that I'm not willing to do haha. And to make it look good is another thing...

Here's one thing to think about though....If you go out to your truck, and look under your front fender flare, at the rocker panel, you will see 2 bolts. One for the flare to attach and one for the fender to attach to the rocker panel. Just to give you an idea of how much I removed, I am missing both of those bolts, and had to re drill my fender at the bottom in order to attach it to the rocker panel.

Hope this all helps! Sorry for the crazy long reply!

Im going to interject and say don't bother with the cardboard cut outs.

Copy the technique, but not the exact thing. You have no idea if you are going to cut out the exact same amount. Every tubing job is different and the very important part here is how different your front suspention is. Paul your on extended travel icons with UCAs and mrbeggins is on 5100s with stock coils compressed at 2.5''.

No way you will have the same wheel travel. Plus your alignment makes a big difference too, and once again, probably not the same.

So id just skip that, cut it yourself and make templates like that with cardboard, but yours will be different Paul.

I was thinking about that last night. My back spacing on the rims and like you said my suspension will make a difference. Aint nothing to it but to do it.

Crazy how much bigger the 315 is than the 285 spare. Time to cut and chop.
