Ok so I have been doing a lot of research on lift kits that are in my price range and I was going to order the Toytec Boss lift kit but then Black Friday came and all these deals started popping up. My price range is around $1200-1300 for coilovers and rear shocks, shackles. I have seen Icon kits 20% off, toytec has a 15% off, and some king coilovers under $1000. I just want a 3" lift for 33s but not sure what to get. Also I have seen people have bad experiences with all three kits.

    Please Help!

The toytec kit is not in the same league as Icon or King. I had toytecs and just wasn't happy with the way they rode on and offroad. They were ok but for that money they still weren't up to par. The valving and quality of the higher end kits are way worth it. As far as which ones? Pick a color. I will say I've noticed people have issues adjusting the height of Kings. They have to removed from the truck, placed in vise and adjusted......my icons turn really easy even after having 30+k miles on them. You won't need to adjust more than a few times in general but still seems to be a pain in the ass. Good luck man and happy Black Friday shopping LOL

I've had the BOSS kit for just about a month now. What negative have you heard? I love my kit, IMO the ride is better then factory on and off road.

I ran my toytecs for about a year and offroad they just couldn't keep up. On our rutted out dirt roads I couldn't go over 15mph.....truck felt like it was going to rattle away. Put the icons an and 15+ felt like butter, I was amazed. The on road ride is actually 10x better too and hwy speeds since the shaft is moving quickly over shitty parts of the road feel smoother!

They're really not that much more if you realize all you need is a coilover and rear shocks for a better ride and performance!

I'm sure people will go back and fourth about this, Having only being able to speak on my experience with the BOSS kit which if fairly new and I may be 1 of a handful of people who have it on 2nd gen Tacoma, i live in New Mexico so i have a lot of the rugged terrain, i actually live on a dirt road and haven't experience the rattling thing, my ride is really smooth and not stiff.
But like i said I can only speak for my BOSS,

Right on man! I think the smaller body shock fades quickly and over time the fluid losses its capability which again is why a re-buildable shock is awesome. The BOSS has that too and hopefully Toytec can rebuild them?

I was in the same predicament--then I looked at the toytec kit with Radflo coilovers. I did some looking around, checked out the company, and decided to get the Radflos because I could get 2.5" shock bodies, 7/8" shaft, extended travel & fully rebuildable.

I haven't mounted them yet, but I expect them to be better than the standard toytecs & boss, but maybe not quite as nice as icons. I went with the lower dollar set-up so that I could afford UCA's and dakar leaf pacs.

Icon or king...cant go wrong with either set. What type of driving are you gonna be doing? That should narrow your choices.
You should also consider upper control arms for alignment issues that may arise with 3" lift.

I had a Toytec kit (not the Boss) and liked it. That being said, if you can afford higher end stuff certainly go with that. It was just more than I was willing to spend.

What is the best deal that everyone is finding?

I'd like a coil-over kit and raise the truck less than 3 inches (2.5 w/rem reservoir)

Like most, I am looking for killer deal to help me make the decision at all...

How are you getting the 20% on Toytecs site? There's no coupon code and the 20% off isn't automatically added to the cart?

Where are you finding those at?

They show 10% store wide too but there's no code for that discount either? They show these "sales" but don't list any coupon codes? :frusty:

    EDIT:

Found the 10% off code: 301303
