    live within your means.

if you think you can own a home and 2 new cars and a stay at home wife raising 2 kids while working at McDonalds...you may want to rethink life and personal economics before you find yourself in a real bad way.

now...if you are in love with the McDonalds corporation, and aspire to become a regional manager or better...a franchise owner. you need to plan for it. learn the skills. get educated. work your way up.

heck, around me ive seen many of just plain old honda civic tuner cars with them installed, they do usually save the car provided the driver actually notices the fire

Ok so i see a lot of people thinking that 12.50 an hour for Walmart is good/bad... Ok so i work EMS. For all that think we just drive ambulances.. we do WAY more than that, we have the tools to save lives. We do what a fully staffed ER does with only 1-2 people, in a box smaller than an ER room, going down the road at 70MPH. Our service runs roughly 8-10K calls a year county wide.. we are a fairly small county (2 towns and a few small communities) So to run that many in as small as a place is quite impressive. Up until earlier this year i was making 13.00 an hour (been employed for 6 years now, i was making less before my 5 year raise)... I have a two year degree in Emergency Medicine, Multiple above and beyond certifications, and much more liability for my job.. I have the power to save lives and for some reason a guy with most likely no college education working at McDonalds or Walmart makes more than i do... Next time you think that they have it so hard on Black Friday, just remember we Run 24/7, We dont get holidays off, we dont get lunch breaks, Sometimes we dont sleep for 24 hours.. we miss out on family events, ball games, weddings, funerals, ect. Also goes for Hospital staffs, Military, ect. .... Sounds like walmart and Fast food employees have it pretty good to me...

how about no, there no way that the frame isn't bent, and you'll need all new suspension the the front left as that hole made with the tire likely blew the shock and bent the control arms.

By "survives" I mean not scattered into a bunch of crumpled small pieces. As the forum post said, frame was bent and the truck was dragged a good distance.

The day I joined this forum I was making $11/hr baking pizzas til 2:30 AM. Now I make over $30/hr at a 9-5. All it took was studying hard and graduating with good grades. Some will say my story is false since only people born from wealthy and elite homes can make it from the bottom to the top (or middle or whatever)

12.50, while isnt great, isn't that bad. And truthfully isn't that hard to get. If you have an open schedule (I.e able to work full time) there are numerous jobs out there that don't require a degree that pay 12 bucks an hour. Which is livable on. I mean if you are supporting a wife and 4 kids ya 12 isn't enough. You don't get a pay raise for having a lot of dependants though.

But I agree. You being an emt deserve more than the average fast food chain emoyee.

8 years in ems, I gained less then $2 an hour. Permant back injury, stress, I became over weight, ect. I worked metro boston, busy as fuck. I did 24's and would do 20-30 runs in that shift. The berating, the trash talk, and shit I received from management, not to mention the patients got me to to start to think about my future. I left, and haven't looked back. I loved what I did, but it didn't pay the bills.

Everyone realizes that the industry is grossly underpayed but nothing will ever change. EMS is a stepping stone to a RN, MD, or Permant fire department (still under payed)

My suggestion is to use your back ground, get back to school and get your RN. Got to pay hour bills, and RN's make great salaries, and with strong EMS back ground, you will get better first job options.

You can still work the bus..... Or get on a medflight crew. Need your RN and ems background though
