Hey guys, I'm hoping someone knows why my truck keeps drifting towards the right when i'm driving on the street or freeway. I'm new to the truck world, so I don't know too much yet... I just installed my new rims/tires/front lift. My buddy that works at a tire shop mentioned something about the caster?

    This is what I got:
    17" Wheels
    285/70/17 Tires
    2.5 front lift.

I took it to big O tires for an alignment last week and it didn't get fixed. I went the next day and they said that it should be fine. (still keeps streering to the right. Anyone know why? or what I need to buy to fix this? HELP!

Got your alignment numbers? Caster should be at the least +2.5 and even on both sides but I doubt you have that if you don't have after market upper control arms.

Upper control arms. SPC light racing UCAs are a popular choice depending on budget and what kind of suspension you have.

I'm going to have to look into these. I didn't think I'd need anything besides the 2.5 lift and an alignment

x2 on the Light Racing uca's. I have them and my alignment is perfect. Price is good on these too. If you do alot of offroading, look into icon or camburg uca's

You don't necessary need them, they add caster which will help get your alignment in spec. It is possible that your alignment guy could have done a better job also.

yeah, i want to blame the pull to the right on your toe, its out on the right in addition to your caster being a bit low. what i was told is the optimal alignment is 0 camber, 0 toe and 3 degrees of caster is the optimal alignment

Edit, here is the LR UCA thread link, in addition to the optimal alignment specs pulled from it.

Caster is on the low side but still within specs. The before actually looked better than the current measurements. There's not much change to the camber from before and after. I think they can get your caster to at least 2 (before was 2.1 and 1.9). What lift are you using? It took me three shops to get my alignment right. Some shops simply don't want to spend the time to do it correctly.

You need to find an alignment shop that specializes in lifted truck.

alignment angles all even....should go strait...try crossing front tires, sounds like a tire drift.did it drift right with old tires? im a align tech for 30yrs.....did notice rear tires pointing to the right....
