    You'll be just fine!
Those video's you referred to were shitty ones filmed with my old BlackBerry anyway.;)
It was just melting back the tabs with a soldering iron anyway.
I've found Locktite Plastic Epoxy gets the job done pretty well too.

OK cool. I thought that is what they might have been but I ground tabs off a bit deep. Funny you say Locktite Plastic Epoxy... because that is what used!!!:)

Yeap no problem. I mean to ask you yesterday, do you still have that stock third brake light cover lying around?

We will need a garage day soon.

I finally decided to take care of a small mod I have been meaning to do for a while. I wanted to replace the clunky, heavy piece of exhaust pipe that connected my snorkel to my intake filter. The exhaust pipe retained a ton of heat and since it was heavy stretched and pulled on the rubber connecters. So I wanted to get rid of this:

    1stIntall_e69f37c7d7291d9c6d998408d871dc5747a807a2.jpg

Since I tend to decide to do things last minute I really only could source intake parts from the local auto parts store on a Sunday. It turns out that Spectre Performance is the line they carry.

    http://www.spectreperformance.com/i...s/air-intake-tubes/3-od-chrome-abs-tubes.html

So I pieced together a kit that I thought would work for my truck. I wasn't thrilled about the chrome tubing but there is always DERP. The product itself is actually not bad at all. Continuous 3" tubing, with butt joints that have a rubber O ring in them to seal the joint and eliminate any drag in the tubing from size differences. Nice 3" diameter tubing all the way. Well by the time I was done I needed one more part and had 3 leftover pieces. All in all the project could have been done for under $50 if you knew exactly what you needed up front.

    Parts List:

    • 90* elbow

    • 45* elbow

    • 4" straight piece

    • Another 45* elbow - This one is too long and will need to be cut to properly fit in 3" to 4" connector after you test fit it first.

    • And one 3" to 4" rubber connection for sewer pipe from a Hardware store. I already had this from the exhaust pipe install.
Note: A blow dryer or a heat gun is helpful to warm up and soften the rubber connectors so that they can slightly stretch around the 3" pipe. You will need to this with the factory Safari rubber elbow and the 3" to 4" connector.

Now on to the pics. Never mind my dirty ass engine bay just pay attention to the BLING! :D

And just to confuse some Novice mechanics. It's a Whiskey powered Intake! :drunk:

^^This added more HP then anything. :D

The filter was also dirty so I cleaned it and re-oiled it. Took it for a nice test drive this evening and noted:

    • The system is quieter then before.
    • Throttle response was improved. But this could have also been due to the the clean filter and my driving since I was playing with it.
    • Intake temps stayed within 3 to 5 degrees of the exterior temperature.
    • After the test drive I popped the hood and the entire piping was nice and cool as it should be.

Overall I am impressed and time will tell how the quality is of the Spectre brand.

    Cheers!

I should be around. Text me Friday so we can plan it. Before you go buying parts for your CB let's talk as I have a bunch of parts that might work for you.

That pic does not do the grill justice. It looks a lot better in person.

Hmmm how much you want for the 3 foot firestick? Will a four footer be much different with signal strength, I'm only planning on using this during trail runs

Let's talk on Saturday. I am sure we can come to a mutual agreement on a cheap price. :D I will need to look at how much of the antenna will be exposed above the bed to see if it will be enough for your needs.

Finally completed the last of my LED conversion by switching out the front Turn Signal bulbs. Also did a small update/change to my ARB bumper lights while I was at it. All bulbs and the relay were ordered from www.superbrightleds.com. Parts are listed below:

    • 2 - 3157-A45-T amber bulbs for the turn signals in the headlights
    • 1 - CF18-08: 8 Pin Black Toyota Flasher to correct hyperflash
    • 2 - 1156-A24-WV: Amber 100 degree bulbs - this is for ARB bumper turn signals

Here is a comparison pic of the turn signal bulbs in the headlights. They were plug and play.

    20140112_104155_zpsopgld7mf_9071e4288c2aef87e14591af247a0e3320bd22ca.jpg

Next up I disassembled the ARB bumper lights and replaced the bulbs in there too. I already had the corner marker lights in LED just updated the turn signal bulb.

    Bulb comparison pic:
    20140112_110731_zpshovmfj6i_055dc3727c84afe3bea3e903e0ba457b690a2cc9.jpg

    Installed in the light frame:
    20140112_110852_zpsk0yoyuwa_640a1b5fbf7bca7f474907e24d044dbc1ca0da93.jpg

Also I wanted to change up the look of the ARB lense covers so I removed the amber reflector from the lense to create an all clear look. The bulb is amber so it is not an issue.
    20140112_111616_zps8wnbigzu_9c1dfd0b598ef2ea86ef86ca37fde7b3e3b8685a.jpg

Lastly I had to switch out the Blinker relay to get rid of the hyper flash. This was fun since it located on the back of the fuse/relay box under the dash in the truck. I had to remove the lower cover under the steering wheel and remove the 3 bolts that hold the fuse box in place. Once loose enough to get my hands behind I pulled out the relay and replaced with the relay for the LED's.

    20140112_115854_zpseubol1su_d8a862021a6317872a31916cf744b29ddec7689a.jpg

And a couple of comparison shots:

The ARB lense with the amber still in it

ARB lense all clear now. You can also see the LED turn signal in the headlight.

    20140112_113543_zpszc5x1pgf_8200b0b884917e0bdc336f06060d0fca2f39667c.jpg

Last shot is blurry since I was using "best shot" on my S3 and it does not support a flash. But it let's you see the bulb color of each bulb.

Not a huge Mod but finishes off the last of the bulbs in the truck. Everything is LED now.
