"McCarthy knows he sometimes has to break the hearts of car fanatics, particularly when an especially cool vehicle is destroyed. “It is painful, yes,” McCarthy said, with a chuckle. For the most part, however, the cars being demolished are duplicates of the real thing, or they come direct from the manufactures. "

I just don't understand why you guys think I'm crazy when the guy I know worked ON THE CARS and knows where they came from. They are real!

So this guy worked on the cars? From start to finish? Wasn't just told to work on the car after it was delivered?

Some guy trying to impress some girl by telling her some $100k Camaro got smashed falling from some airplane doesn't mean that's actually how it went down.

Can you tell the difference between a real Camaro and a year one car?

    They aren't real.

The guy that worked on em must be an idiot. I have been to the LA studios, they have big budgets..but they don't have that deep of pockets..

to get real cars would cost them a fortune. Even renting super rare and expensive cars is a big deal for them.

almost all cars are replicas that are getting destroyed. very few anymore are the real cars or custom made anymore. Just too much money.

All the 70s big cars though and cars that are a dime a dozen, real. They are cheap.

a 67 pristine camaro..not real. expensive. can't afford 4 of those for retakes and car chase's where they take lots of damage. just can't.

He's actually a friend of my dad's who worked together in the Air Force. He's not some random kid trying to impress me. Both him and his wife worked in the Air Force with my dad.

Believe what you want, you'll see the stats when the movie comes out.

I'm referring to Fast and Furious 7 which is still in production. I got sent the pics only a few weeks ago. I can't post the pictures from my friend but here are some unclassified photos taken in Colorado a couple weeks ago by my dad. These don't have any of the muscle cars but to at least show you I'm not lying.

You can barely make out the Universal Studios sign on the truck.

I'm only jelly I wasn't there to see it. The cowboy guy was pretty nice he said and opened up all the cars to let him check it out.

I have no doubts about the trailer and all the cars they go through. Think in the first 7 min of the 6th one 206 cars are destoryed? something like that.

But the claim that they use real vintage cars is false. well..real rare vintage cars..

to use plasti dip does the surface and the can have to be at a certain temp lol. just tried to touch up a spot on my wheel after taking it off and rolling it in the garage and the plasti dip started to run like it was water.

im assuming since the can was in my truck and the tire was on the truck in the cold for a while the fluid and the surface is too cold and it is not the right consistency? Im letting them both warm up in my garage right now because it gets about as warm as the house does. so when they warm up it should work right haha?

I know that when I use plastidip in cold temperatures it isn't that great. But regular paint doesn't set as well in cold either. Plastidip just seems much more sensitive to temps than normal paint.

I know that when I painted my wheels on my 96 in 90 degree weather with high humidity, it came out great almost like powdercoat and never came off. Have never had as good of luck with it since.
