What personal protection do you keep in your Tacoma?

carry keys, and use door locks. Keys can be nasty in how you hold them in your hand, if you are so inclined, but even more effective in the ignition, -->to drive away.
4000lbs of truck is a pretty effective weapon if you absolutely needed it to be.

 

This idea could cause you some problems if you were attempting to drive someone over then trying to drive away. Can't really call it self defence if you were to turn around and come back and run that person over if they are standing at the side of your vehicle and not in front or behind it.

 

Phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range but thinking about switching to the lubed up bat, sounds like a better idea.

If you are able to drive away from the threat, why would you go back? (agreed, certainly no longer self-defence) The point is you have a perfectly good tool already to extract yourself from the situation, no violence or array of additional weapons required. The words coming out of the person who feels threatened can assist greatly (or make things worse) as well.

 

That's what I am wondering, why would you go back? The chances are going to be small that if someone is going to be standing at the front or behind your vehicle if they are trying to get something from you. So unless your vehicle can move sideways there is no sticking around. But don't police tell people that if you are being robbed that you're suppose to stay where you are and do what the person(s) says? I guess you wouldn't want to take off if someone has a gun.

you are better off kill the attacker for one good reason.. you are defending your life and the dead man cant sue you.

 

ding.. this rule is part of the deadly force theory. It works well. I wont start the spreading the fire but every states have it own ground rules covering that.. the most common are: never pull out the weapon unless you are clearly in danger/ threating. always give the attacker a fair warning to back off in a way that not a direct threat to them. like that fellow member who lives near Tacoma hill made the smart move. Finally if the attacker made the move to hurt you.. then shoot to kill not injury.. if you look back on certain court history where a defending person injured an attacker, the attacker may have the chance to sue the would be victim.
longs you explain to the cops.. " I fear for my life and family" so this would put the finger point toward to the bad guy.
