I don't plan on touching anything but the caster adjustment on the UCA though. So changing it to the D position would drop me to 1.2* of caster. I was under the impression that higher positive caster gave you more rear wheel well clearance:confused:

If you move the upper pivot point of the spindle rearward, you increase caster and lose clearance.

If you move the lower pivot point of the spindle forward, you also increase caster and gain some clearance.

So it depends on how you are increasing caster. If you are using the LCA cams to increase caster, then you will increase clearance.

But if you are increasing caster by a LR UCA adjustment, then you will reduce clearance.

I hope this helps. It is very confusing. bjmoose's writeup was very helpful for me.

Go ya! I am found. It isnt just that increasing increases caster increases clearance but the way you increase caster. Hmm... so I should have set them to D and asked for 3* of caster to maximize clearance.

Cool. It's hard for me to verbalize what I see in my head. Actually, that's probably a good thing. Haha.

Yeah if you go with D you could easily get 3*. E would give you 2.2 - 2.8.

I started out with D and then had the alignment tech adjust the joints to E. He was very gracious in allowing me back there to show him what to do. He thought the LRs were pretty cool. So you could go in for another alignment and just have the tech roll the ball joints over to D, and then dial everything back in.

EDIT: by the way - awesome looking truck Brady!

I'll have to see how nice the Toyota techs are here. Haha I won't get it aligned again until I get my DMZ SUA kit installed and my nitrogen fill kit to adjust my ORI's so that the I sit either level or have a slight rake. Then I will just flip them to D myself and ask for 3* caster.

Thanks! I hope it gets a whole lot awesomer by the end of Christmas:D

Got bored today so decided to play with plastidip and Duplicolor color match paint. I'm actually pleased with how it turned out.

Took off the grill and emblem and taped it up

Did this almost a week ago but still feeling them out/doing minor tweaks. ORI struts instead of coilovers.

Hey if you're any good at soldering anything,
    Go on eBay
    Search 600 waterproof strip
    Sort by lowest price first
Bid on four or 5 of the 5 meter strips
(You'll only need to win 2 or 3)
Then wait em out & win the bids.
You'll need two 5 meter strips for the bed and you can do under hood lights with the scrap from 3 reels.
If done right, you'll get it all done for 25$ or less.
I've done three sets under that cost.

    Or
Pay the tacoma guy on here 160 after shipping for a done set.

I'm not gonna post a thread & take his business because the labor on them is a bitch & a half. He does good work.
But if you're handy with an iron, there are much cheaper ways.
