Anyone have a spare O2 sensor for the 2012-13 Tacoma on the upstream on the manifold for sale? I got all three off yesterday really easy except the fourth one the thread stripped off making it pretty much useless to go into my DTLT header. I called servco and all of the other auto part stores and no one has one in stock.

 

If you use the O2 simlulator from URD you dont need the sensor to work. Just to plug the hole. I spent $250 each when I did mine, knowing after that i didnt need them to work. Im guessing any generic one would work.

 

Are you positive? I thought I read that the system periodically uses the front sensors and compares to the signal from the rear? I hope what you're saying is true! Would make life easier for me down the road.

 

I stand corrected. It still needs a signal.
Rear O2 Sensor Simulators are used in off road/racing vehicles to prevent the check engine light from illuminating and to prevent an ECU code from tripping (P-0420 and/or P-0430) when the catalytic converter(s) are removed for off road/racing use. URD Rear O2 Sensor Simulators are carefully calibrated to condition the signal from the rear O2 sensor to keep it in the range the ECU is expecting to see. DO NOT USE ON A PUBLIC ROAD OR HIGHWAY ANYWHERE IN THE UNITED STATES.

Note: Be cautious of O2 sims that replace the rear O2 sensor with a falsely gererated signal.

Toyota started using a wideband type O2 sensor (air/fuel ratio) in the front position for better engine control. These wideband type sensors need to be recalibrated from time to time by the ECU. The ECU uses the rear sensors for this recalibration process. The ECU cannot properly recalibrate the wideband sensor using a falsely generated signal. This process is explained here, US Patent 5706654.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get DTLT headers in on the driver side of a 2013 tacoma? We are at the Pearl Harbor auto hobby shop stall 15 if you wanna roll through.

 

i really want headers... hopefully there will be a fat sale for URD headers on monday and free shipping to HI ...... hey a guy can wish

 

Cut it apart, bolt it on, weld it back lol

 

You have to remove the middle section of the steering shaft.

 

I just finished installing that side, just loosen the y-pipe and meditate until you are in a zen-state...then carefully lift it up into place. install the o2 sensor after.

 

It sounds good once installed.

Finished the the DTLT headers install this evening, we ended up removing the 2 bolts that hold the steering shaft in place and just sliding it down and out of the way to get the drivers side in. We also put on the AFE Pro Dry CAI intake. Big thanks to Matt (Lemon_177) From Tacoma World. The URD y-pipe wouldnt fit because the front driveshaft was in the way from the lift. I am going to take it to exhaust systems hawaii on monday to get it put on. Lemon_177 and I will be putting on our 2.8 stealth pullies here in the next few weeks. Cant wait.

 

Two things.....
For anyone that has it but hasn't used it, or for someone that's buying a truck ...A-TRAC is AwESOME!
Made it up a gooey mud hill with some roots no problem. Where a regular 4wd would have just spun or lockers will slide the rear around, atrac kept me moving foward!
2nd...anyone got a stock rear bumper for sale?
