    Nobody.

    I built a forged/performance motor for my MR2 a few months ago - even that hasn't been to a dyno yet. What frustrates me is people spreading information as gospel without any theory, science, or proof behind it.

    2-1/4 piping is perfect piping size for an exhaust system for something that puts out about 200 hp. I doubt just a muffler swap had dropped me any power, if not increased a little because the engine doesn't have to work as hard to get the exhaust out. Like I said I notice no change in power, so it's not like I gained or dropped a whole lot of power.

    Like I said earlier. Most were 5-15hp and ft/lb torque. Chris had Dyno sheets and everything. It was all in a thread on here before. Was one of the first thread I read. It has disappeared tho...for whatever reason. Probably marketing or something. You can PM him if you don't believe me.

    I have done many Dyno comparisons to mufflers on the 2nd gens, and 1st gens. the largest gain was a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler on the 2nd Gen which showed 8 horsepower increase. the TRD muffler,Jardine muffler, and another which I can't remember the name of, gave around 5 HP. a couple flowmasters that I tested showed 4 to 6 horsepower loss.the dyno sheets were thrown away about a year after I completed everything, because my wife had no idea what they were. the company that I worked for at the time, was leasing land and building to a performance shop so I didn't have to pay for dyno runs. the mufflers tested were tested against the stock one on the same day usually within 30 minutes.I tested all the mufflers within a3 month span.granted the conditions did change, but being as the mufflers were tested again stock I believe the results showed accuracy in the comparison.

    That makes more sense - ~5hp is within what I'd expect from a dyno/environmental variation and small changes.

    Maybe someone already posted this, but why not try the deck plate mod and intake silencer delete mod? That will help performance slightly and definitely add more sound... not quite as iffy on reducing performance..

    I might have had it all posted, but most all of my stuff was hosted on Photobucket.I made the mistake of thinking my things were safe on Photobucket, and when Photobucket lost all of my stuff I had no backups of it. All of my information and photos regarding certain write ups were lost.

    I've done a lot of those on 2 1st gen trucks. The deck plate mod gave 5 horsepower gain on the 2.7 and around 9 HP on the 3.4. the silencer delete mods showed nothing on either engine.

    I deleted threads that had photos I lost.
    Stupid auto correct. the bottom line is, no exhaust is going to give you a ridiculous gains. pick whichever one you like the sound of and go from there.
    the muffler is engineered into the exhaust system to maximize the scavenging effect. running without a muffler lost about 8 horsepower on the 1 GR motor. A lot of people don't realize, the OEM muffler is rather large, and flows pretty well.

    Also, the best gains were found using 2.5" pipe. However, we're talking only about 2 more HP over stock. Nothing you would actually feel in the butt dyno.
