My friend went to best buy on black friday and shut off all samsungs with a tap of the button

if you a girl maybe....jk only thing i ever wear is sunglasses/safety glasses. i have hit my finger with one of those cut off wheels. it hurt and bleed quite a bit but i am fine, can’t even tell i did it 3 years later. I have also hit my hand with one of the sander bits, that one did not hurt has bad!

I'm looking for a 200-250 4 stroke, budget is ~$800, I don't care about age, as long as it runs and has a good reputation, what are y'alls thoughts?

I found a 89 (?) yamaha 200 for $750, but it's up in wisconsin, and i think it was 2 stroke.

 

ehhh it will go a way.. i have had that happen with plastic and metal. have had to cut a few locks.(the safety ones, so bolt cutters would not work) and a locking hitch pin.

save another grand and buy an early 2000s bike. what do you plan on doing with it? like trail riding and just putzing around?

for 1800 you can get an 00-04 type of yamaha/honda/suzuki that will be much better than an 89 anything.




I dont ride any dirt bikes that old (my street bike in an 82 honda cx500) if you really want to cap at 800 i dont think it matter what brand (i would say hold to the main ones) honda knows how to make bikes, yamaha has been around for forever as well, just check it over for how well it runs and if there are leaks from the valve cover, shift lever, chain gear ect.

when you look at it make sure the tell the guy not to start it that day. a cold start will tell you how the valves are and how the tight the engine is. crack the throttle. if its sluggish, has flat spots, floods whatever you might have carb issues...which is a pain. Of course all of this applies to buying an 02 bike like an 89 does.

I dont ride 2 strokes either, so i dont have much input there. sorry.

 

Yeah, i should put more money towards it, but i want to get sliders and shotgun, so that cuts into my budget, and starting next semester i won't be able to work hardly any.

I want to learn to ride (my sis want's to learn also), i'll use the bike mainly on trails in MS, TN, and CO, and just putting around our property.

I am looking mostly at honda, yamaha, suzuki, (and my favorite) KTM.

If i find a bike to check out i'll definitely tell him not to start it.

My best bet will probably be to keep a eye on CL and find someone who's getting rid of their kids bike and doesn't know what it's worth.

 

You can't go wrong with a honda that's all iv ridden, look for a crf150 great bike and everyone can ride it. It's got loads of power I'd say more than an old 250
And I'd love to have a Ktm but there expensive to buy and own so think about that.
But if your looking for old and cheap look out for a xr650 of a klr they pop slot for cheap

 

if you are getting a bike for 800 i would stick to yamaha or honda, just a personal opinion after watching guys go through different bikes. Unless you have more coin i would also not try to find a gem ktm for cheap. I dunno, its true you get what you pay for. Im learning that quickly with my 82 honda. thought it would be smooth sailing, but i have a list of stuff that needs rebuilt over the winter. If you find some online in your are a you want to check post em up. im curious what youre looking at

 

Yeah, we have a honda quad that i abused and she still runs fine, so i'm pretty confident that a honda is good.

I'd like to stay with a 250 or 200, a 650 would be way to much for me (and def. my sister), my quad is a 400, and it's just enough power.

And yeah, KTM would be a 2nd or 3rd bike (500 or 600, street legal)

Yeah, i know of a guy (my cousins neighbor) who's selling his 06 crf 250 (or crf 250x) for $1,600, but i might be able to talk him down to 1,400.
Only issue is it has a rebuilt top end.
