It works very well for a dashboard roll when your hydraulic spreader isn't working!

looks like is versatile, but it is slow going, especially their lifting of the concrete slab, one pin at a time and it takes some effort to get it moving to boot.

In my eyes the hilift is more of an emergency tool. Not an every day use tool. Great for saving you in a jam. But a little impractical for more every day jobs.

I actually put the hilift the closest to the slider... this way if it moves, there is less angle to hit the door (got this by the hard way...)

ALWAYS open your doors first before lifting. If the base kicks out the top of the beam will put a heck of a crease into or through your door.

That's where I mounted, and most often I use it for lifting tractor implements on the farm when connecting to the tractor... so not the normal use I guess!!

Where did ya get the spare tire mount? have been considering doing similar to my truck.

That is genius. I never would have thought to do that. Its so simple. I worry about that everytime I use my lift.

That is what this helps prevent from happening:

He mentions not using it when you want it to slide, and that is where I really miss the old solid bumpers. If you got in a rut or high centered you could lift the whole end off the ground from the bumper and then from the side of the vehicle push it over until the jack fell and it moved your rig sideways when it fell. By switching between the front and back you could move your rig sideways a long ways. With sliders as the main lift point now and no solid bumpers any more, not so much now days so preventing it from falling sideways is usually more important IMO.
