Hide and seek..yikes. My 77 Chevy wasn't much better, had to pull the whole heater box out first. So many hidden bolts, plus the linkage never worked right after. Fortunately it was stuck on defrost.

 

John, I think you were saying you're going to need to replace your carrier again. I just put an OEM one in after trashing 2 Dormans. The OEM one is in, and it's quiet, but my shutter came back. The rubber in the OEM one isn't as solid as the Dorman one.

 

Ya mine was the crossmember bolts were alittle loose from taking my skids off . I tightened them by hand with a wrench . But went back and hit them with the gun and the noises went away .

 

Ordered the AC compressor and PS pump

That's good news! Glad you don't have to deal with swapping that bearing again.

 

Ya me too. Just trying to keep it together till tax time. Then trade her in .

Ride in sucked today. An accident in the tunnel added about an hour to my ride

 

That stinks. Traffic is never fun...

 

First day back at work since Nov 15th. This is gonna suck

Snowed here this morning. Like, REAL snow. 5 inches of heavy wet stuff, the sort that sets up like a rock after the temperatures drop again. I would have plowed it this AM before work, but the battery was dead on the tractor. Hopefully it stays warm enough today for me to be able to plow it tonight.

Truck handled like a tank, though. I RTFM after last week's storm and disabled the traction control before I left the house. MUCH more predictable handling this AM, but the ABS is still wicked twitchy.

 

2nd gen problems

 

My truck kept doing the "hit a bump while foot is barely on the brake and ABS kicks in and takes away brake control" shit this morning. It's only on hills, but it's still annoying and dangerous.

 

I pulled the fuse for ABS. Got tired of the ABS kicking in if I happened to run over a pebble while braking.

 

Mine keeps doing the same thing Jason. It's kinda terrifying when someone is downhill from you and you're trying to stop.
