    The OME catalogue has them at 9" of travel.

    4-5 hours.

    The shocks rubbing the springs only happens with them in the stock locations and when the suspension is fully flexed. the shocks are just a little too far outboard, and they are a larger diameter body than the stock shocks so they make contact.

    personally I would relocate both upper and lower mounts. If you just do the lower ones you don't have a lot of options for where the lower ones will fit on the axle and you might not get the shock mounts in locations that won't still limit travel.

    By relocating both upper and lower mounts, (a new crossmember is easiest) you can mount them so they do not limit travel and do not contact the springs.

    Okay, thanks - I'll put a crossmember in, then. I bought a set of shock mounts for the rear axle, but I may make or buy regular tabs for the crossmember. What'd you use for crossmember / mount material? Box tube, U channel..?

    I used 1.5" .120 wall square tube for the crossmember. Used paired shockmounts from Ruffstuff.

    I just got back from a 1400 mile run around Arizona. The OME stuff handled everything from interstate slab to washboard roads just fine. And even without the stock swaybar installed I was able to tackle the twisty's as fast as I wanted. I'm totally happy with my purchase of the OME kit from Wheeler's and think it's the perfect solution for a dual-sport rig like mine.

    Fantastic - great to hear. I have ToyTec coilovers but will have the same rear suspension. Where'd you go? Anywhere I should know about? I'm hoping to do some exploring over this winter.

    I spend as much free time as I can in AZ. When you live in San Diego you either drive up through Hell-A or you go to AZ. And as I always say, "When you cross into AZ you're finally back in America!"

    Anyway, not much you're probably not familiar with. Spent Wednesday night in Camp Verde and then up to Flag Thursday morning for breakfast. Back to Sedona later that morning for some hiking and fly fishing along Oak Creek. From there we went over to Fossil Creek so I could chase some Verde Trout. Then up the 260 through Payson and Heber before heading back west.

    Unfortunately I didn't do much real 4-wheeling. I bought a Powertank after selling my TJ (it had Viair on-board air) but I haven't filled it yet. I also didn't get my All-Pro sliders installed before I left. I don't like how they attach to the frame so I'm deciding between returning them or just welding them on :confused:

    Ordered the rest of the components for my lift today!

    I've been slowly putting together everything as good deals come up. Should come in around <$750 including brand new oem style leafs with AAL, u bolts, shackles, bushings, diff drop, brake line etc

    Would like dakars but I can do that later, really just wanted to commit to OME shocks/struts

    Beyond excited, pics to come of course!

    Do I need to be aware of an axle relocate or shock mount relocate procedure or can I just bolt this up and go? The guys at wheelers didnt mention anything about axle or shock relocation...

    You can just bolt it all up. My .02 would be to make sure you have a strong buddy available to help with the leaf springs.

    I also made use of ratcheting tie downs to pull the axle forward a bit after it shifted out of alignment.

    Edit
    One more thing, the factory bottle jack made lining up the shackles super easy. Just wedged between the frame and spring to apply pressure downward until it all lined up.

    Awesome, thanks for the tip!

    I am also curious if I messed up by not getting the optional 1.5" shackles, instead of the 0" greasable shackles it comes with... I will probably end up putting an AAL in it based on what I'm reading. Only real way to know is bolt it up and give it a few weeks to settle I suppose.

    I wish I had the aal, but that's part because I used 882 coils. Sitting about 1.5 lower in front. The aal still wouldn't have put me level or raked but it would have been nice to have extra stiffness for weight. When I say this is bolt on... You probably won't want to remove/disassemble the leaf pack again. Do it the first time :) if you need shackles later then add them - they are an easier affair.

    You're probably right about that. I will eventually have my home-made rear bumper and tire carrier on the back, in addition to my toolbox and occasionally a light trailer...

    Yep, you need the aal. All I have is a camper shell and mine are hating me.

    Here's a pic of mine after I got the 255/85-16 Cooper ST's mounted yesterday. I'm gonna wheel it tomorrow and see how it does.
