I am happy so far with my Pelfreybilt but even with it Holy Cross put a dent in it. Keep in mind the thicker you go the more likely something else like your cross member on the frame will bend. Everything has a weak point. I would find a good compromise between weight and thickness and then just make sure you call me to spot you when you are wheelin.

Based on it's location up front you can much it up pretty easily in mudd. Your drop bracket have skids over them or does it leave the front diff exposed? Chances are if you remove it and clean it off it might run again. Another thing to consider is do you power wash the underside of the truck at the car wash? You might be getting too much water inside of it.

Got a trip to Hawaii coming up soon and we've got some interesting adventures on the docket that I'd like to capture for posterity. I wouldn't have a use for it enough to justify the price tag and normally don't like borrowing things but since they're made pretty solid and I'm extra careful with things I'm pretty sure no harm will come to it.
