Well, they would have to cut the wiring harness right at the base = sucks for them!
Second, i just call my insurance and get a new one. but again here in the great north, people don't steel your led bars at -30 :)

Since i don't buy the rigids at 1100$ it won't hurt to much if they steel my aurora at 300$ :)

Now that's funny… aurora and rigids have the same aluminium brackets…rigids price 74$ here's the link; http://www.rigidindustries.com/mounting-options/47520

and the one's i bought at Aurora; 20$

now that's some mark up and i think it clarify's something we all wondered...

Do you add on your vehicle mods to your insurance? I wondered if it would be worth it and how much more they charge you for vehicle mods. I always just put none on there...

I'm still confused to why Rigid's cost an arm and a leg. I mean, the lifetime warranty is nice, but that's about all that's going for them. If that light really does last like 20 years, it might be worth it. I mean, you can buy 4 "china" lights for the price of 1 rigid IF the china light goes bad. I've had mine for almost 3 years and still as good as new. That means at least 12 years of lights if mine went bad right now before I pay as mush as 1 rigid. Rigid is a China housing with lights designed by rigid and they put it together in the US which makes them "Made in America" and they stamp that on the light. Ooh. And the lights aren't much different from most china lights. Brightness wise. I've compared them and the brightness isn't noticeably different. Don't get me wrong, I love rigid, I just don't understand why they're 4x the price of what they should be. If you have the money, why not I guess. But I highly recommend to get the same thing for 1/4 the cost.

Holy crap! A company more expensive than rigid! Thought that was impossible! They must be smoking too.

That has to be a scam or something. The rigid 50" is 23k lumens?

My china 41" is 24k. Suck it rigid

Not to be a dick, I genuinely don't know, but on what do you base that? Like is it just the price that means they are more likely to fudge the numbers than rigid? Not that I believe that mine is 24k, that's just what it said on Amazon, but I also don't know if I buy that the rigid is the number that they say it is. I'm just saying I don't know how they get these numbers.

one thing to remember guys is that rigid, vision x, Baja etc. are big time paying sponsors that reward those that perform. They also do a ton of sponsoring of goods, tons of cool high quality video's, etc. so the end user, YOU, pay for all that.
I help in video production some time and I can tell you one video in the quality they are doing is over 20k! That is a lot of lights to sell to recoup that.

Yes those brands are tops, the only personal friend that doesn't run my lights, is my buddy who has a 1800 hp twin turbo sand rail, who can actually OUTRUN the light, not by much, but he would like a farther reach than I could give him. But then again if you have an 1800 hp, 200k sand rail, cost doesn't really matter when you burn thru 100 gallons of race fuel a weekend at 12.50 plus per gallon.

Also remember that lumens ratings can be made to say anything, just like dyno numbers in horsepower wars. Lumens ratings can be taken at 3 ft or 30 ft or 6 inches, there is not really an industry standard, so its really hard to hammer down an exact.
The funny thing is that I've had guys that bought rigids, and then mine, sold their rigids because the light difference (if any sometimes) doesn't outweigh the cost differential. Then I've had guys that bought mine, and unless you ever saw a rigid, or vision x, you'd never know if there was a difference, and they are tickled to death with the product they received.

I would think eventually, they will have to rethink pricing.
I just had a customer call to tell me he paid over 2k for 2 rigid lights, then saw me online, and ordered a 50", 20", 4 pods, for way less than he paid for the rigids he is going to return now.

I agree, I just do not see how they justify their prices, other than the people that support those prices. Why someone would pay 4x the price is beyond me.

Me too. I jumped on a group buy for a 20" double row shipped with a wiring harness for 250 bucks.

    9600 lumens
    6000k color
    Combo beam

    I'm happy

Just back from the shop this past Monday!! Can't wait to get out on some night runs. Went with Rigid (and not interested in comparing or suggesting any better than any other just that I really like this setup). I am very happy with how it turned out!!

    Great pics & awesome ideas!!!

    crap bolted and welded together....
the only real thing rigid has going for them besides their warranty, is the lens and bowls. IF you compare rigid to a china bar, yea their light up close is the same. BUT, the rigid throws farther out. Distance is what they achieve and some people want distance with bright light instead of close with the same light.

Now....this is what ive gathered from other information. Just my $0.02

    Agreed.

When it comes to small LED pods I'll definitely be getting Rigids. If I could afford a full Rigid Industries light bar I'd buy one of those instead as well.

GARBAGE. There is zero difference between Rigid Ind. and Aurora light bars. Lens/Bowls/Light output, all the same. Side by side you cannot tell the difference.

    prove it  lol
but if they are so similar, then rigid will sue.. thats what they do when someone uses their design on the lens/bowls. Have done it already....According to the patent rigid holds it is of the refractive lens inside the housing...what can be done is having the lens removed which should decrease the optics approximately 7%(according to manufacturers specs)

    EDIT: (copy/paste)

These Aurora Lights coming over from china infringe on US patents that Rigid Industries LED Lighting has on there optics. They are illegal to sell and are complete knock offs. There are other options for LED Light bars of cheaper price and cheaper quality out there if you cant afford Rigids. You get what you pay for though. I just suggest you stay away from anything that could relate to legal trouble. Not only are they infringing on US patents but someone could face federal charges from the government, even Rigid doesnt have control over that.
