    Hello Bandit,
I was searching everywhere for the answer to my question "Can I run my 17" OEM 6 spoke alloy FJ wheels with the 4" Maxtrac spindles?" & I see (thanks to you) that I can! :)

I currently have 5100's @ 2.5 with 1/4" taco lean spacer. I would set the 5100's to zero with these 4" spindles & get 1.5" more of front lift. In the rear I have OEM 3/1 leafs with Wheelers 3 leaf AAL & 1" steel block & it sits 1.5" higher in the rear. I already have extended rear shocks & brake lines so I would just replace my 1" block with a 2" tapered block for more lift & better diff angle.

I will also add 1.25" Spidertrax wheel adapters on the rear because I don't like the front wheel stance wider than the rear.

Do you have any side angle pics to show how far they stick out compared to the rear?

    Yeah, this concerns me too.

Thank you for the info & the recommendations!

I'm looking to see how these Prerunners look (side profile) with the front wheels sticking out more than the rear. Do you have any pics like that? I'm hoping that with running Spider trax 1.25 in the rear can make up for the front spindles pushing the wheels out .75" per side.

    Here's my set-up:

Here, I was showing the Timbrens at work with over 2,000 lbs of concrete tiles in the bed.

I'm really considering going with the 4" Max Trac spindles, 2" tapered steel block & Spidertrax spacers (for the rear wheels) since I already gave the longer rear shocks & my rear brake lines are long enough. I need to see more pics of that set-up though.

    Thanks!

It will be easy if you use any lt kit besides engage! ....any other kit all you need is the little spacers under the adapter.

What is the consensus on rear leaf packs to go along with these spindles? Looking at the Headstrong Bundle with the Dakars and OMEs or an All Pro Standard with Ext 5100s. I do not haul much nor do I have any bumpers or heavy gear. Any recommendations from the TW brothers that have gone on before me? Advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello Folks,

Bandit (& anyone else who is running this), I am looking at HEADSTRONG OFF-ROAD & see this offer:
Max Trac 4. SKU: Tacoma (706840) $494.99 (with FREE shipping)

As you know I am running the same FJ wheels that you are. I want to install SpiderTrax (only on the rear wheels) to compensate for the wider front stance.

I just want to make sure that my 17" FJ wheels will NOT rub on the spindles. MaxTrac states that 4.75 is the maximum backspace but our FJ wheels have 4.84. I guess thats not enough to be a rubbing issue. Sorry for asking this again but I will only buy these if I can run the FJ wheels with them & NO front wheel spacer.

Here's a pic of my ride with 275/70r17 BFG A/T's:

    Thanks again!

Hey Bud... You might need a 1/4" wheel spacer with that setup. If it was a larger wheel like a 20" wheel you could get away with it but it's only a 17" wheel. 1/4" wheel spacers are hard to find that are hub centric. There is a company on Ebay that does sell them I don't remember their name though... They are in Anaheim though... Maxtrac as a company cannot advise you to use these spacers nor do we recommend them but there are a lot of people that do use them. Please if you do check thread engagement on the lug nuts and you might have to go with longer studs also. Hope this helps and again if you have any questions please send me a message or call....Bob

I was right on the verge of buying some spindles and joining the MAXTRAC Spindle party. But now I'm thinking of trading in my 2010 for a 2013.
