What are the TW members favorite watches?...For the past number of years I have been jonesin' bad for an Omega Seamaster 300m.This year I turn 40 and have decided to go ahead and take the plunge and get one.Forsaking truck upgrades and scrimping and saving,I'm getting close to pulling the trigger. This is a watch that I plan on having forever and my intention is to pass it along to my son when I head to the happy hunting ground....Omegas have a wonderfuly rich tradition and among other brands seem to be worthy of being passed on for generations.

At work it's a beater Timex Ironman every 3 years or so,and for the past six years I've worn a Swiss Army Officers LS when off.

    Any other watch fans....?

I am a watch fan, however I cannot find a watch that does not attack me after about a year. About a year after getting ANY watch my wrist starts breaking out with a very bad rash. I have tried cheap watches and watches that cost $300+. I was told that a titanium watch would not do that so I spent the bucks for a titanium watch (that watch was sooo light it was awesome), but sure enough it attacked me too. Aargh! It sucks. I would love a Seiko like the one shown by robrjohnson but I am not spending that kind of money just to throw it in the drawer after a year....

I decided to stray from the Ironman line and try a Casio G-Shock last year.....After the first week I developed what appeared to be little blisters on the inside of my wrist where the stap retension ring lay. When I was off work, wearing my steel watch the rash would dissappear but return as soon as I put the Casio on again.I was told it was a reaction to the latex/rubber compound they were using....Went back to the Timex and it never happened again.

I have a Casio in the illuminator series, cheap but but it don't lose time, and when I'm not knee deep in concrete I have a Citizen WR 100. I would love the Rolex submariner but...$5850.00  keeps me where I am.

I like the Seamaster by Omega too. It's hard to justify $1K plus on a watch. I wear a Citizen Navihawk that all beat up. I wore it all over the world (thanks to the USAF) and is sentimental to me.

    A thing or two...
I like having a watch with me. Nothing real fancy though. I'm not in situations that would necessitate it enough to justify it.

The nicest one I've owned is an Armitron. Had one for 9-10 years until I left it on the bed one night and accidentally kicked it off and the second hand came off. LOL Bought an identical one after that and it lasted another 3-4 year until I smashed it at work. It most likely saved me from breaking my wrist though.

Now I buy the cheapest thing I can find at Wal-Mart that isn't totally hideous, and they last about 6-12 months.

I've got a Luminox 3101. I love it. I used to have the same problem about having to switch watches about every year or two because I'd break it, or it would pull all the hair on my arm out, or some other reason.

I've had this one for about 2 1/2 years now, and I love it. Durable as hell, works with everything but very formal attire (for which I have an old Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium).

    I highly recommend it.

Also, I've got a Casio G-Shock that's solar powered and sets the date and time for you. I got this before I got the Luminox, and it's held up pretty well, but I hardly wear it anymore.

I really like the Seamaster. If its good enough for James Bond... but waaaaay too much $$ for a watch.

Been with Fossil for quite a few years now. They make a good watch and they fix their prices so retailers can't shaft you with markup. On my second watch in about 10 years. I still have my old steel one, just like the new one better. Fossil Blue Titanium. Nice and light

I have a Casio G-Shock GW-300. It was around $70 at Wal-mart. Solar powered (never needs batteries!!!), syncs with the US atomic clock (never need to set the time!!), and automatically turns on the backlight when I rotate my wrist to look at it (never push the button!!). So I'm lazy, and want a watch that'll last. My other G-Shock lasted around 4 years and was still working when I got this one. I just got it because I thought it was cool, and I don't have to maintain it (DST settings, battery, etc). As it is I put a new battery in the old one for my wife to wear a year or two ago, and noticed it's dead already (sitting on the desk, never using the alarm OR the back light... ) so the solar is worth it I guess. Wal-mart won't change the batteries because they aren't authorized by Casio to do so, so that means I would need to find someone else to do it. Or do it myself. I managed to do that with the last one, but dropped a screw and the battery died way too soon IMO so....

Mine's not listed anymore, but it looks like this:

Had it for a few months now.....Seamaster 300m with Omega's new Co-Axial movement.Bought it used off of one of the popular watch collecting sites. As I said,my hope is that it will one day be my Son's when I'm gone. It's an auto and neat to think that the Old man's energy powers it now and his will in the future......Far in the future hopefully.:D

Right now I have a Swiss Army Summit XLT Titanium. Next watch will have the H3 feature (what Luminox has in their watches.)

    Eventually I'd like a Breitling.
