I am only 5' 8" but getting in my 2011 4x4 is getting real difficult. I have arthritis is my neck and the roof line is so low it's getting very painful to bury my head in me chest to get in. How does anyone over 6' do it. Is there a trick?

I'm 6'3 and I never really noticed this issue that people have complained about. Maybe I was just used to getting in where it was habit vs me maneuvering any special way to get in.

those a little taller dont attempt to walk/stride into our truck.

Stand on threshold and sit and then rotate body and slide legs into place.

im 6'1 and i dont have neck trouble but i dont seem to have a problem getting in my dbl cab... maybe push your seat back before you get in... and put your ass and legs in first if that makes any sense.

It was kinda hard for me to get used to getting in a smaller truck. Last truck was a crew cab super duty.

I'm 6' even. I've learned to go in head first. Going in ass first makes you have to curl up.

I'm 6'1" and I've never noticed having to duck to get in. I put my right foot in first, then sit down and pull in my left foot. It took far longer for you to read that than it take me to do it.

6' 2" with severe neck arthritis and one of the big reasons I got this beast was because I can just slide in and out of it, no trouble at all. I don't know why you would have to "tuck your head into your chest", I sure don't.

I'm 5-8 too and found that it's easier to get in my lifted truck(3") then it was with my stock one. I had side steps on both but with the stock height, they were almost useless to me and got in the way getting in and out of the truck. With the lift, it was just the right height for me to use the steps to get in and out.

I suffer from the same problem (pain) so I went out to my truck and tried some of the suggestions. Here's how I was getting in. #1. Grab ahold of the handle with my left hand.
Bend over and put my right hand on the console and pull myself in with my left hand controlling the whole thing with pressure from my right hand. Sounds complex but you will see what I mean if you try it. It still hurts a little for me. #2. Put the seat all the the way back and just sit down in the car. It made all the difference in the world. Give that a try and see if it doesn't help.

When I have to park in the street vs the garage, I find that running fast across the lawn and do a front half twist sommersault will let me land perfectly in the driver's seat with my hands dead on the 10am-2pm position on the steering wheel. Just make sure the door's wide open and tilt steering is up.

I don't know how anyone tall drives this truck. I'm 5'-9" and I have the seat all the way back as far as it goes to the stops. And I still have to grind my neck to the side when I get in.

I keep hitting my ass on the garage light during the half twist mid air over my wife's CRV to get to the Tacoma. Maybe I should park in her spot.

Ahh... Yeah I can see that :D

I usually just leave the door shut with the window down and the steering wheel telescoped all the way out for the extra challenge. ;)

I don't have any neck issues but do have to tilt my head a little getting in, 6'6". Double cab has plenty of room inside, drivers seat adjusts back more than I need.

I'm about 5'11" and my ass lines up with the seat so I just flop in it. I got a regular cab so my door may be a bit longer but I have no idea if that's the case.

Bunch of tall folks here! I'm 5'6 and my trucks lifted a bit. When getting in I have to open my stride with my right leg.

its a stupid angle for entry, and Ive seen others as well as myself bounce off the stupid access cab doors (due to trying to duck and do a f_cking crunch to get in). Or smack our heads............seriously tho, its like doing a damn crunch

The truck isnt ergonomic when speaking about entry, rearview mirror location, sun visor location (right in ur damn face), and a few other quirks.

Ive got some bulged discs on my back and neck currently, and its not very fun to get into.

    6'1

HOW THE $%&*^%!!! did toyota release the truck like this?

With my seat or a passengers seat pushed back to a comfy spot (NO, NOT ALL THE WAY EVEN)...... the access cab doors are in the way?????
