Anybody have the new appradio 3? Getting ready to pull the trigger on a brand new one for a really really good price! Is there anything I would need to buy to install it into my truck or does everything already come with it?. I'm real excited and it's gonna make my truck sound a lot better!

I have the app radio 2 and love it.

go to crutchfield.com and they have the face plates brackets and wiring harnesses to make it plug and play. Make sure it comes with a phone connection wire or the correct one.

EDIT: After looking at what comes in the box you will need to pick you phone connection cable. Either iPhone 4/4s, iPhone 5/5c/5s, or android cable

face plate either black or grey

Well I'm getting it from a buddy of mine that's a car audio mechanic so he will probably have everything I need thanks though! I was wondering the phone connection cable is it hard to change out. Because I will be on my iPhone 4 for about a month until I switch service and will have a iPhone 5

easy. All you have to do is pull the radio out, unplug the 4/4s cable then plug in the 5 cable. It plugs straight in

I have the SPH-DA110 in my 2013. I have the Metra AXXESS streering wheel control thing, all the Metra harnesses and face plate. It is pretty cool. The face plate that I have is painted with the tiny speckles like the toyota 2013 one is. not flat black plastic.

There are bugs, but all in all it is an improvement from the AVIC-Z140BH I had before in my Audi.

hopefully there will be a jailbreak for iOS 7 soon so you can use AppRadio Extensions.

When did the Appradio3 go on sale? I was trying to find one in a local store for the last 4 months and no one had one on display. I want to play with it first.

Also, does it have GPS internal to the unit or does it mooch off your phone?

From the research i have done it does not have a GPS internal unit.....When using Apps like pandora, navigation, satellite radio, etc the radio uses data from your phone. If you use GPS or these apps alot you will be using more phone data. Iam torn between the app radio or a JVC unit that i can just plug my phone in off my charging cord and have a internal GPS unit.

Yeah I agree. It's pretty much just a display for your phone and does whatever your phone tells it to and mooches from it. With the AppRadio Extensions it basically becomes your phone, and you can control about everything from the radio itself. Seems pretty slick, but I need to do a lot more research about iphone 5 compatibility, cables needed for AR Extensions, etc. If it had built-in satellite radio it'd be a no brainer for me.

I have been chattin with Crutchfield techs all morning.. Pretty much you can not use satellite radio with the App Radio unless you use the Sirius App off of your phone( which needs data). If you use GPS your data usage is going to majorly increase with the App radio. If you get a Unit with GPS internal unit you can buy a antenna to use Satelite radio.

Here a link for the cable you need for the app radio of iphone 5.

    http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130SPD...72305&awat=pla&awnw=g&awcr=27580624585&awdv=c

Would be around $650 total for the App radio because radio will not work unless your purchase the cable to hook your phone up to it.
Good news is if you purchase from them(crutchfield), they give you the Dash kit to install it and plugs used during install for free.

I think there is a workaround for satellite radio...you can get a stand-alone unit and hardwired FM transmitter...

It plugs into the back of your radio between your antenna and headunit and every one says it sounds just like Aux. But there you have an additional piece of equipment to mount somewhere.

Does anyone know the main differences between appradio 2 and 3? If it's just iphone 5 support and dvd/cd player then I have seen a jailbroken iphone 5 can work with appradio 2 and save $200 or so..

The app radio 2 has a firmware update to work with the 5. On another note my app radio 2 came with a gps antenna. I think all it does though is mooch off the phone and boost it's accuracy.

I didnt think of that.... That sounds like it would work.... Just cant decide on the Internal GPS unit or the App radio using the data from your phone. I also don't understand why the cable for the App radio is so much??
