Gotta hit up the tailgating... the last tailgating in Candlestick history. It's like my home is being demolished. Yesterday was the last game I took my mom and dad and lady to. The family game. And I haven't missed a Niners vs Rams game since I was a little kid, and last year it was only one of 2 ties in Candlestick history. Seriously I don't like the idea of Santa Clara, and the reality is setting in that this is my last year of season tickets. Candlestick may be ghetto, but it's my Sunday Chapel

Not to talk shit but they got embarrassed tonight. Century Link field has to be the toughest place in the nation to play NFL football if you are not seahawk.

Ya, no thanks. I don't want to get stabbed or beaten in the parking lot by a bunch of your fellow 'fans'.

Sorry Chiefs fans, but we retook the record. Seeing as how your team is on a 3-game skid, something tells me you're going to have a hard time topping it now!

And for those of you not paying attention, there's only one team in the country that's clinched a playoff spot. :D

    That was an impressive smackdown.

It's nice to see Zach Miller doing well, and I'm sorry he left the Raiders. He was one of the more promising players a few years ago when...there were no promising players.

But Sherman and Thomas are such unsportsmanlike, dirty, foul hoodlums, I always root for the opponent. Hubris on steroids. They embody all that is wrong with the sport.

I don't think Sherman and Thomas are dirty or hoodlums. Both are actually very well educated and extremely smart. They are no different on the field than Ronnie Lott, Kenny Easley, Deion Sanders. They are all mouthy, cocky, and arrogant and the best at their positions.

It's been proven time and time again in the NFL that it takes a certain mentality to be a successful defensive back. These guys are both first team all pro and will continue to be because of the way they play the game.

If you run your mouth to them it only makes them better and you will pay for it, think Gary Payton. I love rooting for guys like that and you know you would want them both on your team.

Bullshit. I don't care what they are off the field, they're douchebags on the field. So was TO and Randy Moss. It is not a requirement for being an good DB. They also draw wreckless penalties that hurt their teams. And doing little selfish joy dances on ever down is just lame.

    Hubris.

Ronnie wasn't a 'roided up jerkoff, your players exemplify why the NFL owners will never get serious about PEDs, that such obvious drug fueled behavior is perfectly acceptable because it puts meat in the seats. They will do anything to keep the NFL on the top of the heap. Think I'm wrong, in another 5 or ten years, everything I have said will be proven accurate.

I don't think they've hurt their teams yet. Actually, I think it's the opposite. It has been cited several times in the media that those two are the leaders of the defense and set the tone. If they think the defense is flat I have ZERO issues with a 15 yard personal foul penalty for smacking someone talking on the other team.

The Seahawks play with an intensity that NO OTHER team in this league even comes close to. The closest in San Francisco.

It it takes a few more penalties to keep up that intensity for a whole game or season .. I'm perfectly fine with it.

However, I also don't believe that have gotten anywhere near the SUH level or Merriweather ... Goldson etc. As evidenced by their lack of fines.

And before you fuckin idiots try to defend those 'riod monsters, consider this, me and Scott as Bay Area sports fans have seen our share of steroid-fueled sports 'heroes' over the years, Lyle Alzado, Barry Bonds just to name two, you can't fucking tell me that's not 'riod rage, we've seen it before, you people are just new to the party and don't realize what you are really watching.

No steroids, I know you want to find any excuse you can as to why SF has fallen and Seattle is dominating so I don't blame you. Sherman, Irvin were Adderall which high school and college kids have been taking for years to help focus. No steroids. If anyone was on this team was on Steroids the NFL would love nothing more than to pop them.

Keep trying, it will make you feel better.

So you admire setting the tone of douchebag?

There is a difference between punishing hits and flagrant late hits. There is a difference between doing your job well and going back to the line for the next play, as opposed to standing around smacktalking and congratulating yourself and gloating and doing little dances every time you do your job. Too bad they don't draw as much attention to themselves when they fuck up. And I'm not just talking about these two douches, but all the douches who do this sort of thing in the game today.

Did you look up hubris? Do you think it is pretty? It is not. It hasn't been since the Greeks.

I didn't need to look it up, I also don't agree with it. I chuckled because I totally expect an NFL fan in California to feel that way. Also, I happen to read this article Jim Trotter wrote this morning and agree with it 100%.

Players in all sports who rise to the top of their profession are the most confident group of people you will ever meet, DB's historically are notch above that. I don't think it has crossed the line, or hurt the team at all. Again, I think the opposite is true.

    http://mmqb.si.com/2013/12/03/seattle-seahawks-home-field-advantage/?eref=sihp

For the record, no. I wish that every player in the NFL was like Russell Wilson. Score, congratulate your teammates and hand the ball to the ref. We have lots of players like that. Wilson, Tate (now), Miller, Robinson, Baldwin. However, I also accept that great defensive players have a different mentality now .. whether I like it or not. It works. I know your not a 49er fan, well maybe you are, but it's Raiders first I believe. The 49er fans talking about this is blowing me away .. they have a guy that kisses his tiny ass bicep every time he doesn't fuck up and their defense talks just as much as ours.

You can taunt me all you want, I don't really care, the fact that everyone else can see what you obviously can't is the thing that is most humorous to me. I suspect the two reasons why your team doesn't get national media attention is One: the East Coast bias and the other is that everyone knows that with Pete, the means justify the ends and with players already gone, players under suspension and ridiculous behavior that you call intensity that only comes form one source, your team is a tar baby, pure and simple, having to talk about it at all it one of those hypocritical ironies the NFL so often finds themselves in when they are stuck trying to find the right shade of lipstick for a turd.
Elite player my ass, yeah right, so was Barry Bonds, Sammy Sousa and Mark McGwire, gee nothing wrong there when suddenly otherwise normal human beings suddenly for no explainable reason became superhuman and did what no one in the hundred plus year history of the game had ever done.
Your backfield is so gacked out of their heads I'm surprised they even know where the hell they are half the time.
They're winning because some of them are reasonably talented, your stadium is loud as hell and your coach is willing to look the other way and not even try to pretend to play the game with any integrity to get what he wants.
So keep on rooting for your team dude, keep on calling me a whiner, I've been on this planet longer than you have and seen this kind of thing before, the truth will come out someday, it always does.

Yes, I think that Wilson is better than Brady in many respects.

I don't "accept that great defensive players have a different mentality now." That's bullshit. It's like saying "I accept that the murder rate has gone up." DBs or defensive players in general are no more important than any other position on the team, or another position in any other team sport. They don't warrant any special dispensation for any reason whatsoever.

What team I am a fan of is irrelevant to this discussion, and in fact, I am a fan of excellent, professional players who don't gloat or cry, regardless of the colors they may wear this season or next.
