Functionality? No. Ability to upgrade later? Yes. With all Adobe products, once you buy in with normal version, you can upgrade at a discounted rate.

If you go with the education discount on an Adobe product, you must pay the full education rate for the next release. Sometimes this is more affordable than the upgrade cost for a normal version, and sometimes it is not.

Now I need to learn this LR5, played with it a little last night but wow there's a lot. Any good free online tutorials or crash courses?

They are awesome! So much better then the vibrating stock ones. They do feel a little more "grippy" but I'm pretty easy on my brakes anyway. So I haven't put them to the test yet. So you picked up a taco? Where are the pix? ;)

Yes bother. LOL They aren't a must have, but it will make your pics smoother and nicer looking. Here are a ton of options. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...ix=flash+di,aps,224&rh=i:aps,k:flash diffuser

I'd get a lightstand and umbrella setup for less than $50 and have some fun with it. What speedlight did you get?

That snap on diffuser that comes with the flash acts more like a bare bulb than a actual softener. Also those small softboxes that fit on the flash head really don't soften the light. Depending on your setup you could get into this cheap and have a great lighting setup for the future with the umbrella and lightstand. If using Nikon and your camera can use the CLS system then your golden with just the speedlight (No need for wireless trigger or cord to fire flash).

If the ceiling or wall is white then you could just bounce the flash off them and have soft light. If it's colored then it will affect the picture and skin colors.

He is exactly right! A soft box or a umbrella would be the best purchase option. Those little ones do help if your on the move a lot.

While I strive to get better at multiple types of photography (e.g. automotive, landscape, and astro), one of the things I enjoy doing that doesn't take a lot of artistic talent is photographing people with their interesting vehicles. I have more to upload, but here's what I have so far in this Flickr set:

Well if all else fails you can use it to stay dry. Or an excuse to buy a studio monolight. :)
