What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

What paint did you use? Don't believe in masking off the tires eh?

I sprayed my winter wheels on my old Evo in gold. I used Rustoleum Bright Coat gold and followed it up with several coats of clear coat. Looked pretty good with the black car IMO.

 

those rims look good. and sick car!!

 

Playing cards worked really nice. You can stick them inbetween the rim and the tire to avoid painting your tire. Also, you going to want to remove the tire to avoid painting lug nuts and everything behind them.

 

definatly am going to do that i wanna spray my hubs anyway flat black to match my recently painted frame.

 

Today I did the power plug mod, the gray wire mod, installed a new O2 sensor, and chased down a burnt fuse for the 4 wire trailer plug...tip: they are in the jack compartment on an xcab. Took me a while to find the fuse...d'oh!

Now I need to get the CEL reset next time I go to town and the Taco should be good to go.

 

I used the same paint, and I was originally gonna use the playing card method VVV but I didn't have any at the time so I said fuck it

I was thinking for those LED lights I bought I would make them into puddle lights so when the door opens they will automatically come on to shine downwards at the ground. Would I have to hack into the red lights in the door that automatically come on when opened?

 

probably be easiest to do that.

if you drilled holes in the bottom of the door for the LED pegs to fit in and siliconed them in should work good.

 

How about if I install them underneath my steps or truck. Is there a way to get behind the button by the door that shuts off the lights so I wouldnt have to go through the door?

 

Not bad trigo, probably wont be doing my wheels bronze for a while but it looks good

 

I would mount them in the doors. Not the kick panels. The kick panels are so multi layered with body work, i doubt you could mount them there easy and clean.

if you have sliders you could just mount them on them.

You'd also be able to tap into the same circut before the door.

But i would just drill the 10 or whatever small holes in the bottom of the door, then mount the lights on the inside of the door facing down and tapp into the red door marker lights.

100%. My KM2s were garbage in the snow without siping. Siping is money well spent on any MT style tire.

 

This Tacoma came without remotes, but had an RS3000. Found the RS3000 and pushed the magic button to enable an ebay remote.

Putting them back on haha Probably gonna paint of derp them white before they go back on

 

i assume that means plasti-dip? why not just paint them?
