Yep, water is a huge issue facing the state.

 

Work is good, setting doors and windows right now. Sounds like the next job is either gonna be in Los Altos or Menlo Park. Tires are ordered, just waiting on the damn things to ship. The waiting is killing me

 

Yeah Garrett, hurry up with those tires so we can hit up hollister.

 

I need my skids too before we go. LCA skids, rear diff, gas tank, transmission, and transfer case are all on the way.

Yep. I plan On doing my Sierra trips early as I expect the mountains to be on fire.

I read somewhere about how some of the reservoirs that litter the bay area require seismic retrofits of their dams. So the ones affect are running at low capacity in case of earthquake. For example, if Anderson Reservoir's dam ruptured it could flood Morgan Hill w/ a 35 foot wall of water and flood SJ with 8 Foot deep water. Anderson is down to 54% of normal because of that while they do the retrofit.

So having dams that can't even hold the water if we had a good rain sucks pretty bad too.

Currently they're charging the bay area aquifers with water from San Luis Reservoir since Anderson can't do that anymore.

 

Headed back up to Lake Almanor for my families Christmas weekend. Supposed to snow good friday and be fine for the weekend. Hope to get some snow wheeling in.

This is true. And while some have had retrofits, they still run them significantly lower than they should. Or worse, they drain them in the summer months to do work on them.

What I'll never understand is how they come to those decisions in the first place.
