This thread is great comedy. Makes me miss TW.

I still lurk here often, just don't show up out of the blue all the time when normal things are happening. It takes epic fuckoffery to bring me out of the shadows.

Much like VSC when it's "off."

Details? If I didn't hold the button down do you think I'd be able to do 4x4 donuts in the first place?

The point is...VSC...is still there. Gotta do a bypass switch to make it go away for good.

You must do some crazy stuff to get the VSC to kick in if you hold the button down. I've tried to get VSC to kick in after holding the button down, and it just won't do it.

    I have a suggestion.

Disable your VSC. Go drive normally for 5-10 min, then w/o turning your truck off or resetting anything (VSC still off), pull in to your secluded parking lot and try a few donuts.

What would that prove, David? My truck does donuts with VSC off. I can't get the VSC to kick in when I hold the button down for five seconds. That's all there is to it.

If your truck behaves differently, maybe it is not at factory specs. You maybe have too much lift which makes the VSC behave abnormally, this has been discussed.

Look - I was posting under the pretense that you were trying to understand the vsc systems and possible discrepencies between what Toyota states and what has been observed. I don't have problems w/ my VSC. I have a moderate lift, 32" tires and NEVER have the VSC kick in even in agressive highway driving.

I have turned the VSC off (yes - i know how) and driven off road for many miles (SOP for higher speed muddy conditions in 4hi) and then subsequently found the VSC kicks back in when pushed hard. I have never disabled the VSC and immediately tried to cut donuts. I have never experienced VSC re-engage in 4lo. I don't make a habit of cutting donuts/powerslides etc. - this is ecperience from use as required, not buzzing around in parking lots. Seems to have something to do with disabling via the button.

    Try it / don't try it I don't care....

I'm having a hard time understanding how you "NEVER have the VSC kick in even in agressive highway driving", but somehow "then subsequently found the VSC kicks back in when pushed hard"

The two statements don't make sense together.

Maybe its the off road part that you don 't understand?

I don't do donuts or slide around on the street. I have driven aggressively through twisty roads ON road and never had the VSC kick in.

Drive to the lease, put it in 4hi and turn the TRAC/VSC off so I can spin my tires when i hit the muddy parts. My lease is 4 miles to the back as the crow flies, starts getting hilly. Clay starts clogging up the tires, starts sliding down hills/ sideways coming out of ruts in the trail, I have SOMETIMES felt the VSC re-engage even though everything is "off". This is on a 2012 dcsb OR.

It NEVER has happened in 4Lo. Don't really need 4lo for what I'm doing there, but that's mostly what I do now.

    Yo, VIP, Let's kick it!

Ice Ice Baby, Ice Ice Baby
All right stop, Collaborate and listen
Ice is back with my brand new invention
Something grabs a hold of me tightly
Flow like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop? Yo – I don't know
Turn off the lights and I'll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
Light up a stage and wax a chump like a candle.

Dance, Go rush the speaker that booms
I'm killing your brain like a poisonous mushroom
Deadly, when I play a dope melody
Anything less than the best is a felony
Love it or leave it, You better gain way
You better hit bull's eye, The kid don't play
If there was a problem, Yo, I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it

Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla
Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla

Now that the party is jumping
With the bass kicked in, and the Vegas are pumpin'
Quick to the point, to the point, no faking
Cooking MCs like a pound of bacon
Burning them they ain't quick and nimble
I go crazy when I hear a cymbal
And a hi hat with a souped up tempo
I'm on a roll and it's time to go solo
    Rollin' in my 5.0
With my ragtop down so my hair can blow
The girlies on standby, Waving just to say, "Hi!"
Did you stop? No – I just drove by
Kept on pursuing to the next stop
I busted a left and I'm heading to the next block
    That block was dead

Yo – so I continued to A1A Beachfront Ave.
Girls were hot wearing less than bikinis
    Rockman lovers driving Lamborghinis
Jealous 'cause I'm out getting mine
Shay with a gauge and Vanilla with a nine
Ready for the chumps on the wall
The chumps acting ill because they're so full of "Eight Ball"
Gunshots ranged out like a bell
I grabbed my nine – All I heard were shells
Falling on the concrete real fast
Jumped in my car, slammed on the gas
Bumper to bumper, the avenue's packed
I'm trying to get away before the jackers jack
Police on the scene, You know what I mean
They passed me up, confronted all the dope fiends
If there was a problem, Yo, I'll solve it
Check out the hook while my DJ revolves it

Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla
Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla

Take heed, 'cause I'm a lyrical poet
Miami's on the scene just in case you didn't know it
My town, that created all the bass sound
Enough to shake and kick holes in the ground
'Cause my style's like a chemical spill
Feasible rhymes that you can vision and feel
Conducted and formed, This is a hell of a concept
We make it hype and you want to step with this
Shay plays on the fade, slice like a ninja
Cut like a razor blade so fast, Other DJs say, "damn"
If my rhyme was a drug, I'd sell it by the gram
Keep my composure when it's time to get loose
Magnetized by the mic while I kick my juice
If there was a problem, Yo – I'll solve it!
Check out the hook while DJ revolves it.

Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla
Ice Ice Baby Vanilla, Ice Ice Baby Vanilla

Yo, man, let's get out of here! Word to your mother!

Ice Ice Baby Too cold, Ice Ice Baby Too cold Too cold
Ice Ice Baby Too cold Too cold, Ice Ice Baby Too cold Too cold

These lyrics are more entertaining than you two arguing.

The real question here is did you have to look that up or did it come straight from the dome.

To the topic, I will turn mine off tomorrow and post the outcome.

Turning mine off in thickly snowed/iced parking lots results in it staying off. I can slide the tail and spin the truck.

Haven't tried turning it off and driving at speed down the snowed/iced road. I've driven on that stuff in an old Subaru with no e-aids, but my truck is both much nicer and much less stable+zippy. VSC seems to be a good thing in these conditions, so I'm not gonna tempt fate and turn it off.

(Haven't spent much time offroad in 4Hi, for what I do 4Hi = fire roads & snow and 4Lo = offroad)

Is it possible that the VSC will forcefully re-engage at-speed? Has that already been discussed? Supposedly one of the biggest purposes for VSC is preventing spins & rolls on the highway, and of course the most likely time anybody would want it *off* is when they are stuck and not moving. (Of course there are exceptions, but for the average Tacoma buyer)

I didn't expect to fill much difference but it was. The roads were wet this morning and rear would come out with a light amount of trottle with it off. I did slide a few times, nothing to crazy because I was around traffic, and didn't want to push it too hard. It never came back on.
