Of course I'm saying this as my Dawgs are playing Big 12 football right now, all offense and no defense. But that is where it is, on D. Offense will be up and down but defense is what carries teams.

 

I don't.

Mich State has a pretty good defense. I will give Mizzou credit for their defense. It has been up to that SEC standard this year.

 

Great as in funny, not great as in "yay no Will Ferrell" because who doesn't love Anchorman?

Really sucks that Grantham is comin back next year. All we can hope is that the young guys learn the playbood a little better or he shrinks it down. I heard it;s a little outrageous.

Mizzou led the SEC in sacks. We were somehow 2nd I think.

Our front 4 was decent, but our backfield SUUUUUCKED.

Yeah, I think that has been the big area where I underestimated them this year. Their D seems to have come a long way in a year.

I've been thinking maybe Grantham isn't so bad, maybe just whoever coaches the secondary? I mean the front has improved through the year but the secondary still looks like shit. Don't we have a secondary coach?

We don't have a special teams coach, so probably not. All those other coaches aren't necessary, apparently.

Hopefully Michigan State, who has the #1 defense in the country, can beat OSU and Auburn can beat Mizzou. Then we can go carve up some Seminoles in the NCG. Gotta do all we can to keep that trophy where in belongs. In the SEC....and in the state of Alabama.

 

I remember he talked about it in some press conference early in the season after the Jameis Christ T-shirt stuff. He said that it had always been his nickname and that's what he wanted to be called or something like that

I remember his name now that you posted that. I remember hearing of him when they hired him. Interesting article, Maybe given time they will learn the calls and get all that straightened out. I'm just not totally buying that is all the issue though.
