subbd. Please get that sucker done so I can finally see what I've always felt Toyota should have done with this beautiful truck in the first place:)

    Oxford, You?

    Thank you!

Toyota should have put S/C 5.7L, 6 speeds and AWD in an Xrunner format...

Very very cool. I had thought of doing this on an 06 X runner I have sitting in the garage. The down side is the transmission.

I would really like to see more info on how you got around running an automatic. I'm curious if that same 4.7 is run with a manual in other countries? Would make the swap a whole lot easier.

Edit: found a video on youtube where the guy wired the ECM to think it was always in neutral. I imagine the CEL light is on, but thats something I could work with.

I cant really tell you anything about the transmission bypass, I can however get you in contact with the man that is building mine. I understand his concept, but its not for me to revile it.

I can tell you this, you will need something to keep the CEL from coming on.

There is a uz with a manual in the middle east I think, an H151 or something.. getting parts here would be $$$$$$$$$

My M/T-Rs just showed up and I put them on the truck... they are HUGE... I had the pinch weld knocked flat for my 33s, but that's no where close to enough for the 35...

Wiring doesn't scare me, but cutting finders and bed sides... that scares me...

I meant, all you would need is the ECM with it's plug. You'd need to redo the wires. That ECM wouldn't be looking for an auto trans.

Let me clarify, if there was a 4.7 in the middle east with a manual trans, that would be the ECM you would want. The only signal it would be looking for is maybe a clutch pedal signal, and a speed signal. Maybe in a base model Prado or something like that. Personally I don't think Toyota makes any modern V8 with a manual. Why is beyond me.

I don't think the ECU in that truck is OBDII compatible. My truck WILL pass inspection, It has too.. or I will consider this whole project a failure. I looked around when I started gathering parts, but couldn't find much info on the manual trans ecu, flywheel, and other parts, and just the shipping cost for the parts is crazy, then the inflated pricing... I decided to stick the North American parts... I will look around and see if I can find info about it. Ih8mud and Lextreme is where I started my V8 search.

As far as Fiberglass fenders.. NO.. I DONT like that look at all.. plus the firewall is the main issue, the finders are secondary.

Lol, was just a suggestion. Not a fan of giant tires, figured you might be able to avoid all the trimming with them

    wtf is wrong with you..

35s are tits. Much more ground clearance and looks awesome.

Just need to tub the firewall and all it well. Not that hard just time consuming.

Just not a fan, I like my pizza cutters. And by tubbing the fire wall is this the same as a cmc?

    no not even close.

Pizza cutter have nothing to do with 35s. Can be 35/36/37'' pizza cutters..

tubbing is cutting the fire wall and re plating it to allow bigger tires. Not just a little body mount.

So if I were to try thos swap at some point and wanting to keep a auto trans I'm guessing it would make for an easyer swap?
