What are the best brakes to use on a 00 Tacoma 4x4.

Are there any good places on the net to shop for quality parts.

Are you looking for stock replacements or a Big Brake kit?

Odd that this thread popped up this morning. I've got to do brakes this week.

I'm wanting a big brake kit but need to wait a few months due to a new baby on the way. What do you suggest for interim "stock" replacement pads?

    Thanks.

If you just need brake pads just buy some OEM replacements. That's what I use and they work perfectly fine for me.

I know that Performance Friction pads have gotten a good reputation with our trucks. They should be available at autozone. But our brakes are not the best as I'm sure you know, so don't expect miracles from better pads.

A Big Brake kit is used when people want better stopping power. There are different manufacturers, but the name Big Brake kit is just a general term used to describe a kit like this.

This is StopTech's kit offered from URD. I noticed that they don't have any for the 2000 tacoma's.

I don't know about you but my dealer rapes me on price, bigger brakes are great for stopping power but are hugely expensive, you can get some real good oem replacement brake pads from autozone, partszone etc.

I'm gonna do ATE PremiumOne slotted rotors and Satisfied GranSport 6 pads. Had that combo on my Corolla. Smooth, fade free, predictable and incredible stopping power. $242 before shipping from TireRack.
