the motors are bullet proof..well..the 22r, 22re, 2rz, 3rz and 3vz and 5vz cause..cast blocks..and i found several accounts of them still running with holes int he blocks haha...now 1grs..probably not..due to their fancy aluminum block and sleeve crap..

 

Mine's been on a flat bed before as well. Ignition locked up in my High School parking lot a few years back

thats a bit crazy considering it could've been worse.
That being said, make sure the safety is on until you stick the barrel out the window. Always serves me well when driving through South Central LA

Mine also ended up in a flatbed once when the ignition barrel internals broke into sereal pieces.. took a BFH and a screwdriver do get it off.

I don't know what kind of rifle he had, but Remington 700s bolt action has had trouble with that happening, I have one but have had no trouble with it, but it's happened to lots of others.

Same thought that crossed my mind lol I seem to recall a rule about rifles not being loaded in vehicles or hunting out of vehicles.

 

Hahaha I suppose I should clarify that. He didn't just poke his rifle out the window. He got out and went off the road a ways to get a look at the herd crossing. In MT as long as your off the right of way you can shoot. He was approx. 30 yards from the road when he was watching the herd cross.

he obviously knows the law in his home state. I'd think a slight amount of humor would be allowed to a man who dodged a bullet and lost a transmission in the process.

but I guess there is a slight amount of negligence to be had here..how did his gun get pointed at your truck?
