Drop bracket lift and booger welds
Basically, the foam would be a more professional solution though.

Well I'm looking thru my service manual and it looks like a major undertaking to remove the dash... It involves disabling airbags, removing airbags, removing steering wheel, console, heater ducts, etc. maybe i'll just have to figure out a way to just remove the upper dash portion if its at all possible

I never put the visor fully down (completely vertical), just because I'm a bit taller and if I did so I'd be blocking way too much of my view.

I typically would push the visor all the way back towards the windshield to block the sun. Clearly that cannot be done with the mic there. However I can achieve the same angle to block the sun if I just pull down on the visor down a bit (and have the edge facing me rather than the windshield)

Sorry it that makes no sense. Short answer: It has no effect on the way I use my visor.

People basically stuff cardboard or paper stock between the dash and windshield and/or a-pillar.

Removing the upper dash panel is a major PITA. It's the only reason why it remains the only non-black piece in my truck.

If you want to access the airbag module (a common rattle), you just need to remove the glove box and the trim piece behind it. Super easy.

Hell, you can pretty much remove everything except the upper dash panel in less than 10 minutes.

I don't think so. The defrost vents are about 2-2.5" away from the windshield.

    Bone stock. For now.
That's relatively close to where mine is, but mine is clipped to the headliner.

I've been told that my voice is drowned out somewhat with the road/wind noise. It got better when I switched from a Pioneer to an Alpine, though. I'm going to review my options this weekend and move it.

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.
soooooo not worth the effort of tearing apart the entire dash...trust me.

you wouldn't be able to put the dash back in. there are bullet like connectors you have to push in to lock the dash into place along the top of the fire wall area. PITA to line em all up just right to give it a whack to snap in place.

or you mean like parallel to the dash? if so..yes..you would impede the defroster totally unless you didn't lay cardboard there..

idk wtf you guys are talking about the dash sounding like its rattling apart..neither of my trucks do that..

Eh, see my Build Thread sig link. Too many mods to list.
That's where I mounted mine too, only on the top edge of the mount. People tell me it's nice and clear when I talk.

    Look at build!
Tried to get a tire off the ground with the old shocks before I throw the billies and relocation on! New shackles helped a ton!

I'm using the Alpine CD147-BTE, and I love it. Sounds great, easy to use. Relatively cheap.
