I have issues with TRS shrouds if left chrome.

Too much handling, using alcohol to clean fingerprints or even water and a rag causes the chrome to come off.

I recommend leaving them untouched until ready for install and wearing rubber gloves to install them.

hey man, just for future reference

i tried disassembling that bowl and could not. So i just taped around it and painted the reflector bowl.
i was using a rachet to loosen that bolts but the bowl would not come off.
how did you unbolt those two pictured with the arrow

You need to pull forward on the bowl while you loosen the nuts on the back, the nuts stay in place, but the reflector pushes forward.

Then for the black clip shown on the other you push the 2 tabs on it in and the reflector pops off.

Yeah, there was something on the 1 shroud for sure. Washed, air dried and used alcohol wipe but still got fish eye and streaks when color matching. Also I used bulldog adhesion promotor and just didn't work. Removed all paint with acetone and followed same prep procedure but used trusty flat black krylon fusion as a base and then color matched over. A little work but finally resolved the issue.

Ok, so tring to finish this today. Trying to mount projectors but seems its not tightening all the way tight. Projector, washer, bowl, adapter and nut. Tried flipping the adapter opposite way which lets me tighten it but then bulb holder bracket won't fit. Does the adapter go in innie or outie?

Got it fixed and all back together. Just had to bed the washer to take up some slack. It was flat but something just wasn't workin. Oh well, easy fix and back on the road.

Yup I absolutely recommend going with FXRs. The install for them was actually just as easy as my mini install.

Plus you get better lights, better high beams and ability to go to 55w

Can you post a pic of the front of your truck, like the whole front end? I want to see how the chrome blinker bowl looks with the black shrouds and reflector lenses. Thanks and great job on this write up.

The bulb pretty much makes it look like amber, not chrome. You don't even notice it. Especially when on (obviously) lol

I feel the same about my mini H1, just didnt live up to the quality that I wanted. Light output is good, kit is pretty good, but having to put foil on a bulb so the hotspot lines up and getting some flicker (which Ive seen others talk about) isnt what I want to be dealing with.

Picked up the FX-R Stage IV instead. Hopefully the OEM parts will satisfy my needs.
