Hello from Arlington VA . I am really interested in the Undercover SE (not the smooth that can be painted) tonneau for my 2013 BAJA X/T DC Short Bed. And, I requested a quote from Trick Trucks in Maryland.

And this is their quote: That cover runs $889.95 plus tax and labor too put it on would be $65.00.We warranty our labor for the lifetime that you own the truck and The part comes with a manufacturer warranty that is a limited lifetime warranty.

Its almost a $1000.00. Is that a typical price for the Undercover SE with installation? I am new to this truck scene, but it seems way overpriced to me. Any input will be appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, i was there a couple months ago and got a similar price for a roll-up cover, its really too much. the covers themselves go for 200- 800 depending on which one you get, and the install really isn't that hard if you can get a second pair of hands here and there

yep. most of the covers for tacos either bolt directly to the bed rails, or in the case of access, they bolt to the bedrail mounting holes, then the bedrail bolt over the access rails. it a neat setup really.

judging by the picture i can see, it shouldn't be too hard, but you'll definitely want a second set of hands, it looks like its just a matter of lining everything up, bolting it into the bed rails and then making sure the weatherstripping seats right. The manufacture says 30 minutes to install so id set aside an afternoon and you should be good.

Edit: this is a hard cover though, so dont quote me on anything, as im looking into a soft roll up type for my truck

Thats what the cost is here in Canada. I wouldn't think it to be the same in the US.
