the other dealership which is llike 30 mins from my house called me to tell me they just got the manual xterra i had been looking for 04 v6 manual. Drive there and its an 07, took it for a test drive anyway then fussed the lady out and left

One sales guy I dealt with tried over and over again to convince me that instead of having a 6' bed I'd be better off with a 5' bed and a bed extender cos that's all they had in stock.

Back when I had my Jeep I stopped in to the jeep dealer to have service done. I asked the saleperson if they had anything on the the new TJ. He told me that they hadn't even seen one yet. In fact no one had, that Jeep hadn't released photos yet. I walked to my Jeep and pulled out a picture of one that I had printed off of the internet that morning. They were aghast at this new fangled internet stuff. It's always good to know more than the sales people.

When shopping for my Tacoma, I told the guy I wanted a 4x4 TRD Offroad, he drives me across the lot to show me a loaded out TRD Sport Prerunner with leather interior, 20inch wheels with Pirelli street treads and then begins to tell me the following:

The 2 wheel drive models are better for offroading cause they are lighter...the Prerunner is more powerful because it has a forced air induction hood scoop...posi traction is better than 4x4 because that is newer technology for applying power to the correct wheel!

I just laughed and walked off. Funny though because I tell everyone I come in contact with to avoid shopping at that dealership. You would think the dealership would see the long term benefit of honesty, balanced product presentations, and the desire to sell not just one car to a customer, but to position themselves to sell the next several to that same customer. If you ever walk into a Harley-Davidson dealership you know what I mean.

when shopping for a new SUV for my wife, a couple years ago.
A Toyota salesman wouldn't shut up about the safety of the 4-runner.
My wife could care less. She cares how fast it is, how it looks, and that's about it.
Finally, the salesman said " Rachal, I know how important safety is to you".
She replied - No, not at all.
The salesman then went to me, "Sir, I'm sure your wife's safety is important to you"
My reply was, "No, I have her well insured"
Dead silence for the rest of the test drive.
The Nissan salesman was much better, when we bought the Pathfinder 10 minutes later.

My dealer told me the Tacoma is made from grade "A" US Steel, that's only forged for use on the Tacoma. The truck is stronger structurally than any competetitor on the market, including US built full sized trucks.

I went into an H2 dealer when they were just out and asked about them. Dealer said "You arent even going to be able to get one". I said, "Is there a list one could get one?". He said, "They are just about impossible to get".

I feel like going back there and asking him now. There are like 50 on the lot

when i started shopping for a truck, nissan mexico hadn't released the new frontier model, but i had already saw a couple on the streets with US license plates, anyways i walk in and talk to the sales man, he had an old frontier in the exhibition room, so i look at it and tell him: why is the truck so simple?? i mean,ñ no fog light, crappy interior, ive saw a lot of 4wd with rood racks and sport suspension, and then he told me those were accesories, i was like mmmm ok, then he begins to tell me, that the frontier was so succesful that they had a waiting list on it, it would take months to get me one, so he needed 1k to put me on waiting list, and i tell him, are you sure this is not beacuse they just changed the model line?? so bottom line he tried to sell me a crappy base model frontier, when there was already a new model coming the same year... what an asshole...

While shopping for my truck, I was told "Yeah, we can't tell you how much it would cost until you agree to buy it." !!!!?!?!?!!?!?!? Who would agree to buy a $20-30k truck without knowing what they were paying?!
