Anyone else running these tires? If so, how do your tires do in wet roads and what tire pressures are you running?
I've had these for almost a year now and I don't know if it's the way I drive or something with my truck or maybe the tires but my wet traction absolutely sucks.
I'm seriously thinking about ditching these and getting new tires even though they have plenty of life left, but I'm always breaking traction in the rear on even very gradual inclines and sometimes even while trying to accelerate on a level road when it's wet.

I haven't had any problems when wet but in packed snow and ice I break free often.

my wet traction is pretty good i'd say. i only break them loose when I'm actually trying to. the shitty dunlops that came on the truck i would break loose not even trying to when just taking off from a light when it was wet. on tire rack these tires got great reviews for wet traction

I have them and have around 45k on them. I hate the tire. It was fine at first but the wet traction is terrible and mine are really loud it's annoying as hell. The tires are also chipping overall I will never buy them again even though off-road they do rather well
Also 32 psi tried 28 not any better

I put a set on about 11,000 miles ago.
Initially, they were great on wet roads. They were always great off road.
More recently, not so good in the wet.
Also, they seem more prone to squeeling out on corners or startups.
I've tried PSI of 29 to 35, not much difference.
In fairness, we just worked as a pit/chase truck in the Baja 1000, and had no problems on and off the race course - good news! Ran at good speed - very smooth.
If they had an LT-rated version in 265/70/17 I might try them. They only had 285's, which would require cutting and aggravations.
I'd be tempted to go to Toyo AT 2 at 265/70/17 LT for the next tires. I had really good luck with the Toyos on this truck when the team was with RG.
In all I think the Rugged Terrains are very good.
No tire can be perfect, all the time!!

I don't understand how these tires are rated so highly at Tire Rack since in my opinion these tires suck now that i've actually put some miles on them. Wet traction was fine the first couple of months but not it's terrible. It seems like different pressures don't really help so that definitely sucks.
I still have around 70-80% thread left compared to last fall/winter and the performance has dropped off significantly. My truck is all stock and I wish my truck had the limited slip in the back instead of the locking diff so at least I wouldn't be spinning only one tire anytime it rains.

Is everybody talking about the same tire here? I have often seen confusion between the Rugged TERRAIN and Rugged TRAIL tires all across the internet. I have the Rugged Terrain T/A and have been pretty pleased with them so far, but only have about 2,500 miles on them. Mine have been great in all conditions. Running 36psi. Will see how they do in snow/ice this weekend.

I had the tire on for 10-15000 miles.. it was an okay tire.. but not the best tire I had ever had if going off-road at all.. choose another tire.. it will wear down fast!

At this point I'd take the Rugged Fails over the Terrain since those at least seem to have stiffer sidewalls and I didn't have this traction issue in the wet. LOL
