Your Uninsured Coverage is provided by Your Insurance Company. Your insurance company pays for your damage minus your elected deductible amount and they go after the other uninsured party. If they get their money they should give you your deductible back. I live in SC.

Well truck estimate is approximately 3500 without them touching anything. Might have radiator support damage which will bump the estimate up another 300 or so the body shop said. Called my insurance lady to ask about the custom parts and accessories clause on my insurance to see if the retros will be covered and I can either get a pair off of here paid for or if I can get compensation money.

To expand and clarify on my previous post: I had an '86 pickup that I only had liability on that before a lady pulled out in front of me I assumed the un/underinsured motorist coverage included property damage. When I called it in I found out that it only includes medical payments. I am not bitchin, as I did not read my policy thoroughly. OP it is good to see you are getting it straightened out with the other party. I had to take mine to small claims court and I do not expect to see any money from them.

Insurance company is buying me new retros :). Sadly they weren't too fond of buying then from some of the great guys we have that make them on TW. So I settled for these since they are as close to what I got now, even a little better since I didn't have any shrouds at all. http://www.**************.com/product_info.php?cPath=971&products_id=2339
I am getting a new grill for no real reason except the very middle piece that just sits in the bumper broke off at the very bottom. So looks like I'll be getting a satoshi done too this winter :)

Yeah even though my idea of getting a hd bumper got kaboshed but I'll just have to start saving for it.

Ouch bro. Glad you're alright at least and seems like it'll work out well.

Now concerning the retros. They look salvageable. The website selling those retros appear to be using the Morimoto Minis. Yes, the headlights may look better with a shroud. Hard to tell for sure form those pics, but there's no way the beam will match up to the TLs.

Anyways, you should be able to remove the TLs projectors with a little work and sell them for about $150.

    *edit*

At 2nd look, I can't tell, but on the damage retro. Is it just the clear plastic lens that's damage or the housing too? If just lens, can buy just a spare headlight and swap lens.

I really don't know about when Liability only is carried as I have always carried full coverage.

Not necessarily true. I have uninsured motorist policy on my insurance and got rear-ended by a driver with no insurance. My uninsured motorist kicked in and paid for the repairs with no deductible and no rate hike. That is why I carry a uninsured motorist policy on my vehicles.

Hoping I can do the same :) I know my first estimate was 3300 but now it's up to 3500 with the retros. Plus they found more "internal" damage. The inner fender was all bent. So I'm guessing it will go up to roughly 4000. Hopefully that's enough to give me a decent check.

Well finally going to be getting my truck back today but the retros won't be in until Tuesday so going to use my stocks until then. Been dying without my truck. The shop truck isn't anything like the taco.

I just had my truck in the shop for over a week, same thing happened to me, only the other vehicle was a deer.lol Anyway it was a dealership shop and the loaner (free) was a 2013 Highlander with 1800mi on it! Had no problem driving that for a week:D I'd rather they had the truck a little longer and do the job right.

Finally got the truck back today! The retro lights that were ordered didnt get installed because they need H1 bulbs and will not work with my Phillips. Bummer for me, but that means that the Acura TL and Morimoto Ballasts will be up for sale shortly. The body shop did some funky things though. They painted the entire grille. The middle of the grille that is black normally is now Indigo Ink and same goes for the lower valance grille. Kinda digging the look but now I need a black chrome toyota emblem for the front. Ill post pics tomorrow when its light out. Thanks guys!
