The Lumpskie Build - '96 5-speed

I guess I can figure out those details when I get the kit in. I was just curious because I didn't want to mess with the waterproof pass through for the connectors at the base of the light.

One more question... I run these lights in low beam mode on the street all the time and have never had a problem. Do you think that the extra light from the HID will change that?

... maybe I should get a picture of the beam cut off...

Yea..no way in hell you could run them around town or with anyone facing you at on the road. Way to bright haha

If you get high/low HIDs I bet you'll be fine. I just thought of just straight up 55w haha

 

I think I'll be able to get away with it, if I use Hi/Lo HIDs, like you said. I did one more comparison. Tacoma Offroad lights on the left and Evo HIDs on the right. It looks like they both put off similar stray light patterns to me. What do you think?

I'd be going with the 55w Hi/Lo beam, 4300K, moto-control relay options.

...I've heard good things about morimoto. Maybe I'll check out the "lighting" section.

BUT, if anyone has experience with HID retrofit, or Morimoto, let me know what you think!

no my Hellas.

slapping HIDs in just a stock housing never goes well. Never uses the light right and ends up mostly just blinding people.

If your gonna do your head lights, do projectors.

 

Man... I can't exactly remember. I may have used a pick to get behind it... I know that it was a pain and I ended up damaging one of spherical bearings in the process. Let me think about it a little more and get back to you.

EDIT: I'm glad to see you got it! How'd you get them out?

 

^I think I did similar to you and basically just pushed the c clip out on my second one. I used the bench vice, but it ended up looking like your picture when I was done. Ahh, the memories!
