Looks repairable - but it might cost enough to repair they will write it off.

Good advice re lawyer ---- if you get any hedging from the insurance company - call a lawyer specializing in insurance claims.
However once a lawyer is engaged, the process slows down.
Check your policy to see how long a rental you can use until it's fixed or replaced.

The drunk driver will have no insurance, as his insurance is invalid if he's drinking. Now whether that applies to his (or his employer's) vehicle only .... or yours as well .... I'm not sure.
I think your company will pay you under the collision coverage as a no fault, and they will have to try and recover from his company.

Don't discuss the incident over the phone. The other insurance company will often call posing as your company to get inside information to use against you. In your case the only thing that may affect you is whether the vehicle was legally parked. IE is there a 3 hour bylaw? Can they make a reasonable claim the vehicle was there more than the 3 hour limit?

    hope all works out

Is that a fucking schindler vehicle?

    Edit:

    Yup.

I noticed the logo immediately, but yankee's post above me confirmed it.

They're not a small company. One of the biggest elevator and escalator companies in the world.

Unfortunate situation. I'm glad nobody was injured.

Good advice. I used to work for an insurance company. You can actually do your own research. Get about 10 examples of comparable trucks (preferably same year or +/- 1 of your year, trim, mileage) then average the price. Better negotiations that way.

    Yeah.
Good point! Hell, I paid 21,500 for my '09 (2WD DCSB) new and traded it in for 19,500 on a TRD 4x4 last year, I had the same mileage as this guy (45K).

Everyone here always complains about paying nearly new prices for used. OP, do your research and don't settle for less than you should!

All good points guys. Prolly gonna go used cause im gonna look for a 6cyl 6 speed access cab. I got a heavy boat that i tow thousands of miles a year so im gonna opt for the bigger motor.

I did do my research i have a pdf file of numerous similar trucks in my area, in addition to a word file that details each truck and the differences that they have to my truck.

    well see.
