I have to disagree for people who have less than 20% equity in their house and are required to pay a mortgage insurance premium. That is wasted money and should be gotten rid of as soon as possible.

For an emergency fund a full year of salary is unrealistic for the vast majority of people. Try to get at least three months, ideally six. Once you get to six think about investing half of it to grow it, keeping half in a stable savings account.

    Wtf is that?

Best way to test it is to hi lift it at the end and look for flex. If it flexes me no likey. If it doesn't, should be good.

This exactly why I pay extra premium! I have to get rid of my PMI… and I'm going to start putting some into escrow because like this time around… I just paid $846.39 of shortage, and it makes me

I only had 10% to put down…. everyone has to start somewhere,

We'll see how much this guys flex.... they look solid with 4 legs and 4 cross pieces within the sliders itself... I think I seen some out there with 3......

I'm done with credit and paying finance charges on anything besides my house and if I could go back in time this POS would not be mine.

I'm taking the advice of a wise senior TW NJ member. Pay cash for everything. If you ain't got the cash you don't get it. He was of course a immigrant because as we all know that's not a merican way of thinking

I remember my first trip to Jamaica I asked why all the homes had re-bar sticking out of the roof. My taxi driver told me they build as they have money and that "roof" was actually the second story..........As soon as they can afford the walls and ceiling.

I haven't paid for anything via credit in well over a year.

meh.... I just looked at his website and I got nothing good to say.

96" long sliders with 4 legs
84" sliders with 3 legs

Yea,,,,, Ill pass. I'm sure most will be fine, but when I buy shit I want it HD. The front legs on those look to be feet away from the front of the slider.

My shit don't flex on a hi lift
When Rich got done welding mine on I could feel my truck was MUCH stiffer and drove tighter due to less frame flex. I even called him on my way home to ell him how much better the whole truck felt.

My bolt on Shrockworks sliders are very similar. They do not flex at all, they are solid as a rock. They were a bitch and a half to install.

Fuck UPS, they didnt leave my headlight stuff, despite my note telling them to without a signature. the delivery guys here could not be dumber.

fuck paying cash for everything… I pay with my credit card for just about everything and I pay it off every friday when I get paid.

I agree it's unwise to live beyond your means just because you have a credit card. But just because you have a credit card doesn't mean you have to be stupid with it, or that by using it you are wasting money.

Especially at my age, building my credit score is extremely important. Theres no realistic way that a middle class citizen can pay cash for everything. This is not a cash world the way it used to be.

And as far as "paying extra toward the principal is a bad idea"….

my $250k house will cost me well over $400k if I make the normal payments for 30 years.
by paying an extra $100 a month it cuts approximately 7 years off a 30 year mortgage.
by the calculations of my mortgage company, paying $500 a week instead of $1667 a month, it would cut approximately 12 years and $60kish. now obviously you have to account for increase in taxes and insurance, but still..

And of course theres the PMI issue. Would be nice to be able to afford to put down more than 20% but not everyone can do that. If I never bought my tacoma and saved all that money, then hell yea I could've, but buying a house and putting down as much money as possible was never my main concern.

At the end of the day, I live in a house I love, and after what I charge my room mates, I pay around the same amount I would if I lived in an apartment.

    And Fabio-
my escrow has just gone up, there wasn't a shortage yet.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
You may be surprised but the sliders are very solid we have had them bouncing on the rocks with little deflection, the hi-lift is not really a good test for sliders. They are 80" and with the added tube on the rear there is very little movement in the tube on those bolt on sliders. The 96" sliders also have that added tube to them it's just not shown in the pics.
They were designed for the guys that don't want to permanently modify their truck.

    Merica! Fuck yea!

Not saying its good for all, but cash is king and plastic is evil.

Did you know the people who use credit cards raise prices on all goods for everyone?

You guys using them and paying them off aren't really getting "free" rewards or points.
Every time you swipe your card The merchant has to pay a percentage to the card company. It can be as much as 6% of the purchase. Since everyone these days forgetts how to use cash merchants raise prices so they can still make a profit.

Luckily some gas stations still make the plastic pushers pay more to offset these fees instead of just raising prices for people like me. Sadly they are disappearing and more and more stations are raising prices then marketing the changes as a positive by saying you can now pay the same cash or credit. What they don't tell you is that if paying with cash you just overpaid 6-10 cents per gallon.

Mother fuckers. They are so stupid. I left a note with a signature and everything and they didnt even leave me a sticker. I really want a hi lift but I have nowhere to put it. I just ordered a new recovery strap for winter because mine was tattered as fuck from lifting boat engines. I have a come along (poor man's winch) that I used to use it with too to get the truck out a few times. It served its purpose...

Hey man good build info. I think you have made me relax on rushing to get 285s and ride out my stock 265s BFG rugged trail till the tread gets low or i have an extra $900 hah. How do you like the wheel spacers? Any pros or cons? Im considering them now. And really dig the snorkel as i will be doin one also.

I know Lavalette very well, I work in and around that area and have been checkin surf spots through there since i could drive. Hope they fared well from Sandy. I saw a lifted 2nd gen silver taco driving by me last week, could be Brian.

Im on 72 alot now, maybe ill see ya!

    Whats up Tuckerton!
