    I found that a 2 jaw puller and a 4 1/2" grinder with cut off wheel works well. Can change them in about 30min minus pulling the shafts. I learned this after beating the rear one out. The Napa joints fit real good but they have the grease fitting on the cap. Im just gonna cap the whole until time to grease.

    I think i would prefer the grease fitting on the cap
    Would be easier to grease

    Easy enough fix
    You can snap one off trying to get the grease gun into some of these tight spots
    Plus if your hitting something that will shear it you might have bigger problems then a zerk

    what carrier bearing did you go with
    i got mine for $25 from drive shaft parts . com

    might look for another option for my spare
    pugga had many problems with doorman he didn't get even a 1000 miles out of them
    so i will see what mine lasts.....

    So Scott are you done with the wookie strength carrier bearing and are now just using a stock one?

    I'd like to replace my carrier bearing soon. Any advice on how to know when it's time to replace it?

    Yes fuck the solid bearing
    It would work great with some cutting of the stock mount
    But i am not committed to doing that as if yet
    And for my 2 carriers that i have replaced
    Each had high pitched noise and clunk sounds
    Video is on my u tube somewhere
    Started off like the sound of wheel bearing
    Then i removed bolts and could tell rubber was completely gone
