Fast food workers want a living wage. That is not the purpose of minimum wage. Minimum wage is not the same as living wage.

Why should someone be paid that kind of money for non-skilled work. Use fast food work as experience and a little income while in school or living at home but work toward an education or trade that pays you for what you are worth.

Actually it was always a union company till "dick" got to running it. Now all unions won't buy his product. It is shitty beer anyway. Should have stayed a union beer...now! I will buy union beer only. Support unions it's what gave you the weekend.

Unions are not perfect.....but an employer grossly overpaying management and themselves isn't fair either. Trickle down doesn't work...and Regan was an actor!

It's interesting some people say fast food jobs are steps on the employment ladder for high school and college kids to make some money, over here in Socal fast food jobs are almost 100% for immigrants. If you see a white person working at a fast food place in LA, you'd think it was a prank or something.

u find that all over the country tho. only places ive seen a majority of workers being white in fast food places are almost any chik fil a or any fast food place when i was stationed in germany.

most fast food places are going to be un skilled workers. well, guess which people tend to be unskilled. high school kids and immigrants.

I lot of folks here seem to think the only people doing the fry slinging, or any min wage job are kids. Young still living at home, or maybe on there own with a bunch of room mates splitting bills, etc. Hell I bet most of those that fit into that category, still have the safety net of Mom and Dad, if it came down to it.

There are those who have no safety net, have started with nothing, and don't the ability to spare the cash for school, or depending on situation the past grades to go onto secondary.

As for skilled labour, I've seen on TV what was working on the production lines of GM, etc. There were people making $25+ and all they did was guide a robot arm holding a car part. They guided it over and another robot spot welded it.

There are people of all walks of life and ages getting paid min wage, and for some it's all they will ever get, and there's others getting paid a lot more than their job requires.

Look at what happened in your country with the '08 crisis. How many people who thought they had a job for life, and a pension when they were done ended up with nothing. How many of them are serving you your fries, or doing any of the other so-called "starter" jobs? Feel free to tell them they should just go back to school.

For a country that claims a lot of high morals, there isn't much empathy for the common man.

Somewhere on the Lamborghini World forum, they're thinking maybe you make too much.

G.M. Employees went on strike to get that pay, they had to cut cost and started making shitty vehicles.

The factory most tacomas were made in is an old gm union factory that had to be moved to mexico, the union workers employed there were frequently absent and would sometimes show up drunk.

Organizers say employees planned to forgo work in 100 cities, with rallies set for another 100 cities. But by late afternoon, it was unclear what the actual turnout was or how many of the participants were workers. At targeted restaurants, the disruptions seemed minimal or temporary.

In Detroit, about 50 demonstrators turned out for a pre-dawn rally in front of a McDonald's...
