I never said Muslims were Christians... I said they have the same God as Jews and Christians. Muslims see Jesus as a prophet of God, not the son of, where as Jews think he was just another guy.

personally...I do not care if the fed raises the min wage...many states are already above the fed level now.

but to suggest raising the min wage will "lift people out of poverty" or reduce gov. entitlements, I disagree.

You said America is a Christian country. And you would be incorrect.

A discussion of religion and who worships what God is another story, and generally not welcomed here...and surely not a part of the discussion of this thread.

Lift people out of poverty? I definitely feel as though that is a fallacy in these times. All I suspect that would come out of that would be folks finding something else to piss money away on rather than spending/investing/saving wisely. I'm sorry but I suppose I'd be a little sour if folks who worked in a fast food joint were making comparable wages to a much more dangerous job with similar pay. To be bluntfully honest, a fast food job should only be temporary.

There are two ways of controlling mass people...one is government..they say, do what we want or you go to jail....the other is religion..they say do what we want or you go to hell...I find it hard to trust either.

I mentioned TW, because you said we dont help our neighbor much or do unto others.

People who only make $12k a year should not be buying a new tacoma. They actually should get a nice older toyota for about $2500.

Exactly! I'm still young compared to some folks on here, and the 4.25 I started out was great. Folks wouldn't need the bump in wages if they weren't spending all their money on things they do not need to impress people they don't like or even do. (Part of that was a quote from a movie as I recall and I believe it)

    many variables...

such as how many dependents...how many adults in the home...married (father in the home)...disability...etc...

and there are many different types of assistance: food stamps...housing...child care...health care...transportation...
