And best thing, order a new set of sensors that can be cloned.
Duplicate your stock serial numbers in the new sensors.

The ECU has two banks, so it can store 2 sets of sensors, but you need the OBD-II cable and Techstream to toggle the active set.

Mine saved me some grief this morning,

First low low temp evening last night, I get to the top of the driveway and TPMS light is on, jump out with a guage,

Yup, three of my four were at @26psi, one at 30psi...

Drove just around block to service station with free air, set them all back at 30, get back in truck. Light off,

    SWEET!!!

Went back and purchased 20oz Diet Dew and thanked the guys for the free air hose.

The tire shop option seems the best.

I bought some used wheels off craigslist for snow tires and they already had tp sensors in them. I bought my tires from discount tire and they programmed the truck for the new sensor id's and included it in the cost of the regular mount and balance. They also told me to come back every spring and fall for the wheel swap and they'll do the swap and reprogram free of charge - said the whole process shouldn't take more than 15 mins.

Both the summer and winter rubber was bought from them so I don't know if they charge if you haven't, but this is basically a zero cost option.

The original setting may have been for 29-32 and you were right on the edge.
36psi is just fine. You'll get better mileage and your tires will last longer.
No reason to run less than 36 unless you get offroad and need the floatation.

    What does Sub'd.... mean?

Took my truck in for the 10,000 oil change and tire rotation. Over the phone the dealer was happy to bolt on my mounted snow tires on toyota wheels with sensors in them. They wanted $52 to program the vehicle to the snowtire sensors. Told them not to worry about doing that just put the wheels on. I just put a piece of tape over the light. They would not swap the wheels without programming. So I put the tires on and cover the light. If I park my truck for a minute or 2 on the side of my house, the light goes out as my ECU finds my summer tires in the basement just below grade.) but the rest of the time the light is on all winter. I'm sure this device has saved a few lives...all for the good, no doubt. I do enjoy riding on well traded, well inflated tires, it feels good and safe. Still best to keep your third eye on your tires, now and again.

NHTSA projected TPMS will save about 130 lives per year in the US, which is a statistical blip given the number of traffic fatalities in the US each year.

    Very strange.
18 million posts per day, but only one shows in the search?

    A disturbance in the force....

    Bone stock for now....
Yanked the cluster out of my 2013 DCSB last weekend and stuck electrical tape on the back side of the TPMS symbol on the gauge panel. It was actually easier than I thought. When I finally buy tires for my new wheels I'm just going to drop everything off at the shop and tell them to mount and balance. I'll throw them on myself. TPMS light had been acting up lately due to cold temps so I was sick of it anyway. When I sell I'll just reverse the mod and throw the stock rims back on.

I read every thread related to sensors and how to manage new ones, old ones, spare sets, etc. and settled on the ATEQ Quickset tool- that was definitely the right decision. I have a set of winter tire/wheels and a summer set. This tool is so easy to use it's ridiculous- makes dealing with tpms sensors a breeze. I have a buddy who owns a tire store and is always complaining about expensive units he has that don't work, especially on foreign cars.
I showed him my unit and he so impressed he bought mine on the spot so he could use it in his shop that day. I go another one right away.
Buy this tool- you will not regret it.

Does anybody know the compatibility between the years? I know reprogramming is necessary, but I'm swapping whole tire/rims from an 07 to my 13, and vice versa. Are the sensors compatible with both trucks. Both alloy wheels, sport and offroad trim swap.
