    I think the main difference is that we usually get a few warm spells and the snow in the valleys will melt where as winter in AK is cold the whole season and the snow just keeps piling up. And we usually only get this below zero crap in January/February, very odd that our first real taste of winter this year is a week long cold snap.

    Bear does that when we get into negative temps. He doesn't even go out, just sticks his nose out, looks up at me and turns back around. He'll do that a couple times over a few hours before he finally goes out. Doesn't stay out long either; takes care of business and then he's back at the door barking to come back in. :eek: He's spoiled and smart. ;)

    Just watching that on Fox News.
