I ordered mine with the rifle kit. They are a reseller for Magpul and many other brands and the packaging/paperwork matches all my other Magpul stuff. I suppose it's possible. Does this look unusual for the flash? (I'll post a pic after) What about the L-R adjustment, are they supposed to be centered or zeroed?

This is the best flash pic I could get tonight in the garage. I hit it for about 2 minutes with a small round file but it was only a little worse than this. All injection molded parts of the sight had sharp very visible flash.

I just checked the Magpul site and the symbol looks legit.
The "official" logo has a couple of cuts next to the vertical riser, but they are not there on the logo molded into the MBUS on the site photos.

Knock-offs are rampant and that's why I brought it up. Buying from REPUTABLE sources is the only way to avoid it and if the price is too good to be true...

the A2 birdcage flash hider isnt that great anyways. I threw away my A2 flash hiders on both my ARs and went with a competition muzzle brake. Drastic reduction in muzzle rise and recoil. You'll be happy with the switch IMO.

The FSC556 is a fantastic brake. Mounted on my 20" upper with the 10c scope, the muzzle rise did not carry the target out of the FOV.
It was louder than hell, but a very effective comp.

Unfortunately, a couple of years ago, it was reclassified as a flash hider so it is no longer good for a featureless build in California, or for any build in states that prohibit the FH.

In that case, I forgive you too. Now we can both shop guilt free. :)

I realize it's all cheap crap, but the groceries are good prices. This matters to me a little, I met and went hunting a few times with Sam Walton as a kid. My father and grandfather ran an 600+ acre oil lease in SE Kansas and I spent my summers there growing up. Sam Walton used to come and ask every year if he could hunt on the land and we went with him a few times. Good times. I dunno, I have never really been on the hate Wal-Mart bandwagon. I see it for what it is, and that's what people really want and buy. Can't blame the store for being in business yanno?

I'm with you, but I'm also a rabid conservative (yeh yeh.. I know..) and I think markets will work when left alone. A crap product should be allowed to die so that a better one can be born and take it's place. When we keep propping up crap with our loyalty, money and ultimately taxes we are just supporting ineptitude and ensuring the system doesn't work. Meanwhile every other import starts to look really good by contrast.

I know, I just didn't want to put any more money into it. I bought the PTAC upper from PSA over Black Friday and just wanted it to be a cheap, down and dirty shooter. I'm buying a cheap $50 lower for it and using a RRA LPK so the trigger is half decent. I have another build that will be using much better components. I want that one to be a tack driver.

No idea. Some guys local to me started receiving the stuff they bought just before Black Friday. I purchased on the 25th and haven't even received shipping information yet. I guess their shipping department isn't the most efficient. They do eventually get everything shipped out, just might take them a few weeks.
