You're asking the wrong people honestly. Youd have more luck posing this question on customtacos or xr underground

And for my truck not being a race car... Sure it's not but then why does everyone super charge or even intake their trucks huh?
    Very ignorant comment.
I want that short boost of power when I need it but get the same 15-20mpg
Because we all know the 5vz-fe engine is not a gas saver.

75 shot will be fine on it.
There have been quite a few guys running 150 shots on supercharged 3.4's and making nearly 400rwhp. check youtube for vids.
75 shot wet will be fine AS LONG AS THE MOTOR IS WELL MAINTAINED.

Find me a transmission / transfer case / differential combo that'll bolt right in and I'm on it.

To give you an honest answer, there is a HUGE difference between supercharging/turbocharging and adding nitrous. Nitrous is instant explosive fuel. Charging only increases air into the engine, and adds plain gasoline. That and it is scaleable.

A supercharger or turbo will work better for pulling (this IS a truck after all) where nitrous does nothing advantageous for pulling.

Nitrous adds oxygen - it itself isn't "explosive". It's basically liquid oxygen, which is why additional fuel is needed as well.

You are right. I wasn't thinking about it that way. I just know that when using nitrous, it can be dangerous. That and you simply shoot in the nitrous. It's not like you meter it in based on what you want. Chargers however are on a scale based on demand. That is why I think that in a truck, chargers are the better option.

OP, I seriously doubt anybody here has done it to their Taco, so nobody will be able to give you FACTS about if it will work or not.

Honestly, unless you don't want the truck to last, it is a bad idea.

But, if you have to do it, do it the right way. Figure out the best timing, and upgrade any parts that are necessary to handle the extra umph. Don't skimp and 'just throw the NOS in', you will be asking for trouble.

Similar to getting exhaust and air intake to work properly on a carbed m/c, there is a balance of the right exhaust, intake and carb jet to make things work properly.

You do meter nitrous - kits are installed with specific nozzles that regulate quantity. A good setup will also have a throttle switch so its only activated at WOT, and also an RPM window switch so it is only able to be active within a specific rpm range. Most kits are all or nothing, true - but as they're only used at wide open throttle, that doesn't really matter.

My point is that it is not infinitely controlled like a charger. As you mentioned, there is still a "switch" that activates it. you are either nitrous, or not. With a charged system, it is infinitely controlled.

Nitrous is also more of an instant boost more or less unlike a turbo or supercharger. its just harder to tune for.

On top of that, the 5vz ECU is a bitch to tune with anyways.

also OP: to the comment about how "Everyone is superchargering and turboing their trucks"

    VERY wrong there too.

They are VERY few people boosting their tacomas compared to those not.

sell the truck. By a turboed car. Mod it, race it, love it. You have the wrong vehicle for a track day/drager toy.

I had a friend with a 5VZ S-Runner that was supercharged and running a 75 shot single fogger with URD fueling and mapping. Ran 12.80s. Better to be fat than lean. Run good gas and maybe go a step or two colder on the plugs. A Walbro 190 LPH pump would be a good investment too.
