    Here is a few photos.

Trimmed the fender tabs totally off. Cleaned up the edges with a flap disk. Put on some door trim. Shaved down the blue and red tabs with a dremel. Painted the blue and red tabs with some derp. peel off the deep from the body.

I had scawlded dog (brent) help me with the welding. He was able to come to my house which made a world of difference. Having a baby and another on the way doesn't give any time to actually do a full days worth of work. We are going to tackle this job in two sessions. Wife was nice enough to make us dinner so it didn't seem too bad. Thanks to brent for coming down from Yorktown to help me with this project.

No easy way to do it but to tac it up then bang that shits with a hammer.

Looks good! Do you have anything supporting the front of the rear fenders? Looks like it is pretty thin like the 2nd Gen

I like the door trim. im probably going to go that route. I dont really want to fold over the tabs. When you put on the door trim, did you just get it from a home depot or an auto zone? and does it just slide on and stay of are you going to glue it? If the tire hits the fender will it pull off the trim?

another idea i had was to fold all of the tabs back under and tack them together, then cut off about 98% of the tab, so the fender still has a rolled factory look to it, and a somewhat smooth edge

do you have any pics of you actually taking out/cutting out the pieces of firewall

looks like you guys did a good job with that fill plate though!

Go to auto zone. You can get 18 feet for $19. It has adhesive but I super glued also I've done the roll technique when I had a ricer civic. I guess it would make it somewhat stronger nut I cut enough when it stuffs it will not hit the fenders. Both techniques would work. To each his own. When did you get a second gen? Do you still have your gen 1?

Gotcha. what tool did you use to cut it? I of course wand the cleanest trim i can, for that matter what did you use to cut out your firewall? Just a thin cutting wheel on a grinder?
hahahahaha i dont actually have a 2nd gen

cam made that pic as a joke in the wtf thread and i just haven't changed it
i still have my 1st gen. that thing is a beautiful pain. i could never get rid of it

i do really like that 2nd gen tho

Reciprocating saw and a 4.5 angle grinder with the thinnest wheel.

I would suggest not coming into someone else's build thread and labelling something as "hacky" when 1) you haven't done it yourself and 2) there is only really 2 ways of cutting the fender and firewall. Either a grinder with the thinnest cutoff wheel possible, and a sawzall to cut the metal off closest to the door on the inside. It's a tight area and you can't fit the grinder in there. Cut with he sawzall and clean with the grinder.

Great job btw Paul. I like the stance to:D I started using that automotive trim on my fenders, but after one trip of crappy roads and some salty sand getting in there they starting peeling right off. So I ended up taping a nice 1/4" line all the way around and hit it with rocker guard. On the inside as well.

Nothing a little welding, seam sealer and paint can't fix!
I got some other ideas for the D-side that will make it go easier. Learned a few things last night.

Ahhh you beat me to it!! Haha. I recently picked up an 89 honda civic wagon so the truck is getting put away for the winter. That's what I have planned next

And to be able to stop the truck when I'm in crawl mode because of the auto.....is gonna blow everyone away:D

Nice! Yea I've heard of people having troubles stopping the auto's with the crawl box in. The manual guys can just flip the truck into neutral when they need to stop. We're not so lucky haha
