Hey guys. It feels like I just got my truck but I need to sell it sadly. I don't use my truck as a truck anyone and need 4 doors now so I wanna sell my truck. I dont use the bed and a 4 door suv sounds so much better. I dont know what my truck it worth.

It is a silver 2004 tacoma 2.7 auto 4x4 access cab. 86kkk miles. Hard to find one with low mileage.Had the frame replaced in 2011 so no rust on frame. Good condition. Couple chips in paint but its an 04 not brand new. Rear bumper is dented but I'll buy a new one for it and clean it and stuff. wax paint everything. Nothing wrong with it and runs perfect.Other then that no dents just scratches on paint. Oh and new tires, and a full service done to it.

I was going to say its worth 10k but on ebay most first gen tacomas with over 100k going for over 11 to 14 k so maybe I can sell it for more. Idk. I know the first gen tacomas have a really good resale value so now I'm thinking I could get 12k. What do you guys think?

    Thanks

I think you could easily get at least $14k, but there are a lot of guys who wouldn't settle for the 2.7 even though I think it's a great engine.

Start at a high price. You can always lower it later if its not selling or no one is interested. Most people will try to get you down a little so if you start high you can give them a little break on price...you'll both be happy.
You do have low mileage so you should be asking for a good price for it.

Yeah it is a great engine for sure. I love it but don't need a truck anymore. 14 would be great!!!! I'm thinking starting at 15 and maybe going to 13 or so maybe 12 the lowest. I owe 6 on it so I'll be making money for sure .

4 cyl trucks were getting a lot of attention about a year ago when gas prices were higher. Lots of 6 cyl for sale as a result because people were passing over them for the 4s. Prices on a comparably equipped 4 cyl were bringing around $1500 more. Do the research and price it right. That way the buyer and you walk away happy.

Pretty sure the 6cyls are selling for more. The fact that you have the most undesired combo is going to play a factor. 4cyl with the auto, just isn't popular. You can list high, but you can miss buyers that way. Someone looking might want your truck, but will go with a different one b/c you are over priced.

I'd say list it for $10, and be done with it. Dealing with "offers" and CL nonsense isn't worth it. I'd rather sell something in a day, then sit on it for a month, deal with a bunch of nonsense, just to get a tiny bit more.

Similar truck. Hasn't broke 10k, with under a day left. I'd watch what it goes for, then price accordingly.

We (my family) had a 2005 RC 5spd 4x4 with 35k miles that we let go for $12,500. Looking back now, we're kicking ourselves because we could have got much more out of it. Lesson learned there, take the time and don't give it away just to let it go. I would start it at 14.5k and go down to 13k. That's just my opinion though :)

11k Firm. It will sell instantly, you make a profit, someone gets a good truck.

    No headaches.

If it were mine I'd put it up for 11k as well. Don't take less than 10.

I could see 13-15k if it was a 5 speed, but the auto really kills the value because it will be hard to find someone who would want it over the 5 speed. You don't want to go too high because you will risk potential buyers turning away from it. I think you should ask 12 or 12.5 and negotiate to 10 or 11. If you have any trouble selling it locally, put a classified on ebay or do an auction if you don't mind ebay taking a comission. You might be better off with an auction because there is a good chance you will get more for it than selling locally. Good luck.

no V6..auto isn't a bad deal, but with the I4 not ideal. No locker either

that said..i paid 13k for my double cab with 146k..

so i bet you can get 12-14k depending on your area and such.

I'd list it for $15k if you're putting it on Craigslist and plan on settling out around $11-12k.

Completely agree. You might be able to sell it for $12K eventually, but to me it isn't worth the months of BS dealing with test drives, low balling, etc.

List it for the price you are willing to accept not the one in your dreams. State in the ad, "price is firm, no offers accepted."

If your price is fair and market consistent, you'll likely sell it to the first buyer.
That said I think you could sell it that way for $12k firm.

Hang around after the sale though Miguel... no need to bail on TW.

The 2.7 mated to the auto tranny isn't a good combo. The truck is painfully slow and gets less mpg's compared to the manual. If you want auto, might as well get the v6. Majority of buyers who want the 2.7 would get the 5 speed, which is why it isn't worth as much, less demand.

    Miguel,

Just a thought but the dealer you purchased from has a great assortment of 4-Runners at all times...have you asked them about trading across ???

They know the value of your truck and might "fit" you into a 4-Runner with little too no money exchanged...

Just my 2 cents and I know the minions will scream about dealers BUT CL & E-bay can be frustrating......I made $$$ on the Ridgeline and purchased the Lexus in one stop shopping...
