Getting one click and dash goes black on my 07. Light on battery is green but I tried jumping her anyway, no luck. CD player is making cycling noises. Gauges slowly dim out and flicker. Help my baby :(

Try a little forplay before you go straight to jumping her. Usually works for me!

Check your connections at the battery. A bad ground or even power can cause this. Corrosion may also interfere with the connection. If the battery is in fact good, then it has to be a connection.

My guess though is that the battery is finished. Batteries are not perfect and can die without warning at any time. Just because the light is green doesnt always mean its good.

Sounds like a bad battery/connection, make sure the connections are 100%

Check battery connections, chassis, and engine block grounds. Cleaning the battery terminals probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

7 years on the original battery? Time for replacement.

The sight window only shows the condition of one cell, from what I read.

No corrosion and connections were all tight. Had to leave her stranded for the night and will have to try again tomorrow. I will disconnect and reconnect. Damn it Janet

Its your battery. Come back tomorrow with a new one and she'll start right up. The green dot doesnt mean anything.

Green light only indicates the acid is good in that cell.
You could have 5 other bad cells.

What's the battery voltage? If it's below 12, it's toast.
If above 12.5, continue to check voltage while someone cranks it. Betcha' it drops to 9.

I've had dead battery situations where I could not jump. The cables can't always carry enough current to start the engine, but they can carry enough to put a surface charge on the battery if it is simply "dead"... if it's got a bad cell or two, you can charge it for a week and it won't start.

Don't have a voltage checker but I take y'all's word for it. That's why I come here. Checked the water and 2 of the 6 holes were low. I'm getting a battery in the morning. I have a daughter on the way in March and I don't want to be stranded ever again. What battery should I get rich?

She is comfortably sleeping in a temperature controlled and ventilated underground garage. :)

    Appreciate the advice fellas.

    Die Hard.

Love or hate Sears, it's still one of the best batteries available.

Wow, a couple drinks and I am starting to piece this whole thing together. I got home from the Bahamas on Nov. 16th and saw that I left an interior light on the entire time I was gone...10 days. I didn't think about it cause it started up, granted with a little hesitation. Have a had a few hesitant starts since. Must have nearly killed the battery. Will update in the morning after replacement.

    Happened to my wife.
Left the dome on overnight on a 5 year old battery.
I jumped it and she took it out and burned a tank without stopping.
Got back home, tried to restart, dead as a doornail.

Reminds me that replacement is pushing 5 years now....

Just replaced my 2008 battery. Still good but seemed to noticed that I had a couple of iffy starts upon cranking…replaced battery anyway. Cheap insurance!

    back to bone stock.
my alternator rebuild guy always tells me (as i leave), "remember, and alternator is the worst battery charger".

he explained to me, that it is best to use a battery charger to bring a dead battery back up, and let the alt keep it there.

dunno. but it is true on my 1981 alt..i left my dome on, killed it and jumped th car. on the drive home my alt fail light came on. cost me $125 to rebuild that alt. maybe a modern alt is more robust. but i am careful anyways.

i bought a $40 Sears multimeter after that so i can check the health of the charge. i've tested several batteries with green eyes, that were dead.
