I tried out a few detailing products we're thinking of carrying at work today. So it's all shiny again. Had to do something productive after swearing at my BMW for a few hours pulling the transmission out. Forgot to bring home some Redline MTL though so I guess I won't get around to putting it back in until the holidays. I also installed an old-school gooseneck map light in the back of the Tacoma for my daughter. Ran power from the lighter plug and mounted it on the back of the console with some speed nuts. She's afraid of the dark and I figured this would be less annoying than giving her a flashlight like I've been doing. Forgot I even had the thing. Found it in my toolbox looking for a pick tool earlier today. Thing was probably in there for 15 years.

 

What Have You Done To Your Tacoma Today?

Spent the day scraping the Harley stickers off the trailer I'm going to tow with it. Oh, wait...

The other day, I took the jump seats out of the access cab and built a platform to fill the space. It folds to allow access to the storage compartments. Gotta find some plastic bins to hold jumper cables, etc that will slide underneath.

 

Rattled canned my OEM "splash guard" with Rustoleum Bedliner. Sanded/Self-etching primer and 2 coats of spray-on bedliner. Turned out great - we'll see how long it lasts.

Today I installed this bad bitch from Brute Force. Did it by myself (kinda proud), the forklift helped a little I guess.

Cutting into the bedsides was pretty surreal. I couldnt help but think to myself, "WTF are you doing?"

 

LOL. Yeah! Wheelers Supply. Got a sticker as well. I had heard about them sending candy in every order, but forgot about it.

I got these lugs beacause I'm switching to FJ Cruiser steelies - should receive those on Monday.

 

One of the best looking HC's I've seen! How much did it run you if you don't mind me asking? What are you going to do with your spare? Does your hitch still mount in any way?

Fab'd up some stainless steel brackets to mount my hi-lift to. Had a little fun with the torch to give them a little heat patina.







I also installed my new rear bumper... just need to build the tire swing out. Need to get a couple parts first. I'll get some pictures of that later.

 

Sold my 2013 touchscreen headunit and installed a 2014 touchscreen headunit with nav

 

Did you have to do anything special to install that?

 

No offense intended , but unless you know the limit of stainless that heat patina will make it very brittle - time will tell .
